Too far from the sun
bastards at Hastings Direct have quoted me HIGHER to renew with them.....up by a whopping TEN POUNDS per month....what the f***?!? I thought it was supposed to go DOWN every year if you had no incidents!?!? wankers....go compare it is then!
Me and the missus both insure through esure and renewed a couple of weeks ago. In each case the cost went slightly down. But I am - as an earlier poster put it - getting a bit old and knackered.

Speak. To. Him.

I find speaking to people confuses the matter further, Hastings just rang me up with a new quote which was cheaper, they go through the system then apologise because its GONE UP...WHAT?!?! bloody useless, I will though Alan thank you, gonna leave it a few days as I seriously cant be arsed with this shit right now....need beer and sun!!

No, it is used because it is a legal requirement to do so - just like tax, it is legalised robbery.

The police use this amazing thing called a computer which accesses a database and tells them whether a driver has valid insurance for their car. Strangely enough the insurance company remove you from this database if you cancel a policy

Insurance premium tax has gone up this year, they can no longer give women lower insurance premiums so have increased both mens and womens (go figure)........apparently also insurance companies are suffering from a massive increase in fraudulent claims which increase their costs even if they don't pay out as they need investigating.

It's a bugger but there are reasons beyond pure profiteering

yep, getting quite difficult to evade insurance now with the auto-recognition cameras. 10 points on the licence and a fine for no insurance isnt funny, especially when you then try to obtain proper insurance. caught again and its a criminal conviction with likly a custodial and certianly community service, because they trying to crack down on dodgy cars and drivers.
