Oh yeah, that's right, we just swallow everything they throw at us. What an arrogant person you are.

Well many of you do just that. I would've thought what with you being in the US that you could see that even more than we could.

As far as I'm concerned organised religion is the root of all evil. Whilst they may preach peace, tolerance and humble living in practice they couldn't be further from those ideals. It's all about money and intolerance of other peoples beliefs, so much so that more blood has been shed in the name of religion than for any other reason.

Yes, the average person with their faith may not be living their life in this way, it's the people that head up these churches and faiths that have grown mad with power. The problem comes when those with the sheep mentality take on board everything that is thrown at them and decide to act upon it. The simple fact is that organised religion preys on people that are too weak, too insecure and just too stupid to form their own opinions, and then exploit them in the name of god (or allah, ganesh, Icke, whatever).

I have no problem with people believing that there is a higher power, or that there is something after death, or anything like that. I do have a problem with people that seem to think they have some sort of moral or otherwise superiority over those of us who CHOOSE not to believe, especially those that can't see the problems that their faith have caused.

Well People should have a long hard look at themselves if they are in a position judge me...I have not got on a soap box and preached to anyone that they should believe or not or that their behaviour is not acceptable in society..I viewed my opinions and I get judged and shot down for it. All becuase I believe in jesus Christ..its people on here who keep on about the christian way of living. No-one is perfect and everybody has different points of view..so if you believe in jesus all your views must be along the way of the cristian teaching...Im not perfect and never will be,but I also dont preach to be!

As for caring what I say or think..you obviously do to a certain extent..you do enough to post a reply and judge me on what a perfect christian is. Is it because im not handing out bible's and praying all day..get in the real world mate. If anyone wished to comment or challenge my opinions or even my views of certain things..go ahead.

Just dont continually take the piss for what I believe in.becuase i dont come up to scratch for what society says I should comment ony..That makes you very small and pathetic if all you have to do is piss take.

Think you miss understood my reply. I am on your side in this. What you think and say is up to you. I was just trying to point out that some people may not understand you.

Jesus. I was just settling in, ready to enjoy reading three pages of this intriguing thread only to discover that two thirds of it turned out to be a slagging match!

Oh well, to be expected I guess.

How about Mr Brown shirt then?

Tar everyone with the same brush why not.... Wars are started in the name of religion, but if it wasnt religion it would be something else. There's always something to fight about & unfortunately humans always find a reason.

byf is clearly a religious person & some of the posts having a go at him illustrate a distinct lack of understanding of religion. I personally believe in God, but don't believe in church. Does that make me a sheep?

Did the guy with poo on his shirt believe in God?

Was getting shit over himself an act of God? After all, He got half a day off work and they say he moves in mysterious ways.

...and lo, after the ablutions, did Johnny underCrackers (JC) return to his office pod and the multitude verily raise their noses to his direction.

Great was the smell and brother looked unto brother and did utter unto the heavens "Phwooarh. Where art that niff?", for they knew not.

God, in his wisdom, looked down and did pity the workers. Directing them towards Johnny underCrackers he did say "remember the 1st commandment my children. Honour thy Lord and give him a wedgie."
The workers fell to their knees and did offer up sacrifices of staplers and A4 ring binders.

As one the holy brotherhood arose and did march to the pod saying "This we do Lord, in your name, Blessed be thy name. Now shut up Johnny or surely we shall flush your head in the loo".

Pulling at Johnny's garments at once the pants of wrath did make themselves known and the workers fell to the floor once again in hysterics, flagellating themselves and asking of the holy father to espy the devil's work. They all as one agreed that the pants were moving in mysterious ways.

Johnny was cast from the office, like Jonah from the Whale only funnier.

Hopkins the confessor in his 114th letter to the NorthStandChat Corinthians did reveal the truth to his fellow Brightonians who did gasp in awe at the tale. Some did beseech for further guidance whilst others did seek tangents to fly across, speaking in a multitude of bollocks.

Tim, stop looking for the stereotyping of the masses and read my post again. As I said, with the people in charge of these faiths it seems that they have drifted from the humble religious ideals that they preach and are now far more interested in the money and the power.

I'm not having a go at byf for his beliefs, or you, or anybody else for that matter. I'm having a go at the corrupt powers that pass down the doctrine, that spread the word, but yet don't take any notice of it themselves. If you can get your god fearing blinkers off for a second you'll see that. ;)
