I beg to differ, the one I hit didn't do much complaining, alot of screaming looking at his skinless leg and shoulder but can't remember him complaining.

I hasten to add that the accident was entirely his fault, the light in front of me was very much of the green colour.

The screaming could be seen as moaning, reserve gear would see to that.

A far more evil menace is these fellas who deliberately position themselves at the end of junctions so that you cant see anything around the corners without pulling into the middle of the road

They'd probably say it's safer to do it in a group, than to go individually, where cars will overtake them and not give them as much space as they'd give a group of cyclists. And if they went up in drips and drab you have the whole road interrupted by cyclists, you overtake one, and then there's another then another and so on. By going together there one moment when you need to overtake.

They would also argue that it isn't selfish to use public roads properly.

If only that was how it worked.

What actually happens is what you state would be the problem if they started in 'drips and drabs'. They all started together but the faster ones pull away clear of the slower ones. It doesn't take long before there is a snake of cyclists about 100metres long. There is nowhere safe to overtake, you just have to sit behind them until you get to the top. If you happen to be the poor car driver at the front you can see twenty/thirty cars backed up behind you calling you an idiot for not having the guts to get passed them.

If they started in intervals with the fastest going first then the gaps to overtake would get bigger and bigger the higher they went up.

It seems that their attitude is 'The cars will just have to wait until they finish'. The Problem being when a frustrated boy-racer one day decides to take a risk and overtake a group of them on a bend. Obviously it would be the boy-racers fault but he would probably walk away uninjured and some innocents end up in hospital.

I cycle to work along the A27 from Lancing to Shoreham, small stretch of road and if you are familiar with the route you'll know there is a footpath that runs along the south side all the way to the Shoreham Toll bridge. Recently I have been encountering a lady who is coming towards me most mornings and makes a point of Standing in the middle of the pathway to make as difficult an obstacle as possible. When I pass she shouts nasty things about how I should be on the road. Personally she can **** off as I rode along the A27 once and seriously thought I was going to die.

Oh and:

Ok, so how much are we going to tax prams and buggys, or shoes, they all go on the road at some time?
Oh hang on roads are part of the countrys infrastructure, why don't we pay out of general taxation for the benefit of all.
Oh we do!

Hmmm dont see prams, buggies or shoes causing tailbacks like some selfish cycling twats do along Falmer Road during the rush hour either end of the day.

VED doesn't entitle you to get home quickly, it just allows you to take a couple of tons of dangerous machinery on the road. Cyclists work too, so oddly they are on the road in rush hour.

re: original point of thread second those saying police should do more about those who block junctions because they wont wait 2mins for next light change. How about a general offense of acting like a twat on the road?
