Good point. I was just making the point that the West are no angels. This could quite easily be a Russian Mafia hit or indeed a Western false flag to implicate Russia. As you say, its a little sloppy and seems to point the finger at Russia, which in all honesty doesn't seem like something an experienced intelligence agency would do to themselves.

I doubt we'll ever know the truth, but it's all getting a little serious now. The western media has been anti Russian for some time - But this is taking it to another level. Worrying times.

As they say in Japan...don't poke the bear....[/QUOTE]

Which of course is what the bear is banking on - it will do precisely what it wants and intimidate you into avoiding any sort of defensive or retaliatory action. Is this what you want?

As expected, Russia is expelling 23 British diplomatic staff, but also cancelling the British Council, in Moscow, and the Consulate in St Petersburg.
The usual tit for tat.

They've said that next month they'll be expelling Arsenal from the UEFA Cup as well.

I'm not looking to score political points here, and I see the point that is being made, but to use Russia, Putin, The World Cup and Hitler and The Berlin Olympics in the same breath...................We're playing our first game in Volgograd of all places. Could they not see how this is going to go down with the Russian people, let alone The Kremlin and it's media outlets?

"Such parallels... are unacceptable and are beneath the head of a diplomatic body of a European state."

"It is scary to remember that this person represents political leadership of a nuclear power."

Said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova of Her Majesty's Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.

For a foreign secretary to come out with that analogy seems extremely tactless. He just doesn't engage brain before opening his mouth

The United States and its European allies are expelling dozens of Russian diplomats in a co-ordinated response to the poisoning of a former Russian spy in the UK.

US President Donald Trump has ordered 60 Russian diplomats to leave the country.

Germany, France, Ukraine and various other EU countries have made the same move.

The US state department said in a statement: "On March 4, Russia used a military-grade nerve agent to attempt to murder a British citizen and his daughter in Salisbury.

"This attack on our Ally the United Kingdom put countless innocent lives at risk and resulted in serious injury to three people, including a police officer."

It called the attack an "outrageous violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention and breach of international law".

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said his decision to expel 13 diplomats was taken "in the spirit of solidarity with our British partners and transatlantic allies and in co-ordination with EU countries".

Earlier on Monday, various European countries - including Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland - had summoned Russian ambassadors to their foreign ministries.

Smoke and mirrors by Trump with the timing set to get Stormy Daniels off the front pages - he could have done this 2 weeks ago

Welcome news, especially for all those who thought our recent democratic choice would leave us weak and isolated.

Think this will have wiped the smirk off Russian faces. They need to rethink their strategy.

The fire is hell on earth though - utter commiserations to ordinary Russians.

As far as ordinary Russians are concerned these expulsions will be spun to demonstrate that Putin was right all along not to trust the west

That is the mindset they will spin but it will become harder and harder to spin it if the expulsions and pressure keeps ramping up. In a nation where critics of the government and of oligarchs is often met with violent murder, frequently unsolved, many Russian's will fully believe that someone on their side has started this.
