Couldn't we have a situation that when a goal is awarded during the time taken to restart the game the 4th official watches the replay. If goal is good he gives thumbs up and game restarts with centre kick, if goal is not good game restarts with a goal kick? I do not see how this would slow the game down.

For over the line decisions we could have the same as wimbledon the captain is allowed one appeal per game. The whole team stops puts hand up (led by captain).

Can't see this putting more than an avarage of a minute a half on avaerage - maybe less.

I'm really against it too. I like the idea that the World Cup final is played under the same rules as a local pub game on a Sunday. 22 players, 2 assistant referees and a referee. Sorted.

I agree with Easy in that if it's bought in for just one purpose to begin with, it will spread and eventually the game will be stopping and starting every 10 minutes for a decision to be looked at, or play taken back to the other end of pitch as after 6 replays it seems the ball did cross the line for a goal kick.

I also like controversy as it fuels the emotions of a game )

What happens if a team rightly overturns a wrong decision? Then had a goal ruled out that would win them the match that clearly crossed the line? What's the point?

The fact so many people have differing views and ideas will mean this will always struggle to take off. If there was one set idea and a majority backed it then fine, but there's hundreds of different suggestions and so it's going to add a load of 'grey areas' to each game

If the challange is successful - the challange remains. Could make it 2 per match anyway - what are the odds of this happeningh twice in a match ? giving responsibility to the captain means that marginal decisions are less likely to be challenged.

Right. And who's NOT going to challenge a goal when its scored ? Especially a last minute one.
"Come on ref, there was a shove back there"
"Look at that, he's tugged him back"
"Offside surely"
"Go to the video"

Hang on everyone. Stop celebrating the goal. We've got to get through this video replay yet.

Yep. Sounds GREAT.
