Blatter doesn't know what he's doing. He was asked who his favourite Qatar player was and he said Eric Clapton. Anyone with even a timeshare on a brain cell knows this guy's as bent as they come.

Time. To. Bring. Him. Down.

Blatter is FIFA's black box.

He knows who has taken what, and if he goes down, he will take the lot with him.

There is supposedly evidence against Bin Hammam and Warner: with Blatter, it's just Bin Hammam's word against his.

I would bet a lot of money Blatter will survive, thanks to his large collection of FIFA flunkies. And cash.

All that's happening now is that Bin Hammam, having been accused of corruption himself, has come out saying that Blatter was aware of the allegations previously but didn't do anything about it, which means Blatter has violated FIFA's laughably ignored Code of Ethics himself.

The allegations against Bin Hammam and Jack Warner are the more serious, as they're the ones accused of actively having done something, whereas Blatter is only accused of having acquiesced, having known about the dodgy dealings.

The weasel will ride this one out, as usual, and in fact he'll be on Easy Street, as Bin Hammam will be magically struck from the electoral campaign, leaving Blatter unopposed.

Call me a cynic, but that's what I see happening. They're in need of a bloody big carpet at FIFA HQ, to sweep this lot under.

don't worry, they've got one!

I notice that Platini has suddenly take a couple of paces away from Blatter's side, and is now seemingly positioning himself to take over should Blatter and Bin Hammam be indicted...

Fifa opens ethics proceedings against Sepp Blatter | Football | guardian.co.uk
Michel Platini has described the decision to investigate Blatter as a "very interesting moment". After being told of the new developments, the Uefa president said: "We have some strange days these new, these next days." He said that because of the Fifa elections: "I will go back to Zurich after the final of the Champions League." Platini added: "You know the people who are corrupt, they know who can be corruptible. They know I am incorruptible."

I predict that the election will be suspended, Bin Hammam will withdraw, another candidate will be found, Blatter then base his re-election campaign on an anti-corruption pledge, get re-elected but then step down inside 12months.

Blatter will do anything to protect his legacy, including doing a deal. The FA should look for a UK candidate that can take over from Blatter once the anti-corruption enquiry is in full swing, Blatter can depart gracefully on "health" grounds before the shit hits the fan.

This will be easily resolved.

There will be a sham investigation, which will find all participants innocent. The presidential elections will go ahead as usual. The old boys club will continue.

The ethics committee will be chaired by Namibian judge Petrus Damaseb. I take your point :)
