Yep. That's the problem. That's the thing everybody is taking issue with Sepp.
Not a mistake at all, in fact quite deliberate. They offered the best back handers.
Interesting that the BBC are leaving out a lot of details on what Blatter said.
Sarkozy asked Platini to take the World Cup to Qatar and Platini told Blatter he felt he had to do it.
Blatter: "Of course it was also about money. Six months later, Qatar bought fighter jets from the French for $14.6 billion."
Obviously easier though to put all the blame on FIFA rather than indicating that Western states and their arms industries may be involved in corruption.

Blatter, of course, voted for the USA and was as horrified as anyone to see Qatar come out of the envelope.

Apparently of the 32 officials involved in the voting for Russia and now Qatar for the World Cup's, 24 are no longer in position, most of whom have been discredited since the vote happened (sorry, purchases) happened in 2010.
We know money talks and football at the highest levels is a dirty business. The whole shambles concerning Qatar just confirms it.

Someone on radio 5 openly accused the committee of having been bought, without any apparent fear of litigation.
And the chief Qatari football muppet has today described homosexuality as a brain defect. Into the Red Sea with him (minus his heterofascist tackle)!
