Exactly. Place where Latin was compulsory and the headmaster (Mr DH Greatwood, MA, D Phil, etc) thought he was running some kind of minor public school. Alumni included Jim Parks (Sussex & England), Dinsdale Landen... and Dick Knight.

i was at hove park 84-88 with slaphead bratton as our headmaster.....the few times we played Blatch at footie(due to teachers strike) we pissed all over them....but loads of my mates form Hangleton went there so I used to go up there loads never any trouble and my first serious bird was from blatch

El Abd went to Longhill, Fraser went to Varndean - played against him for the school. Also played against Elphick who went to Longhill, I remember he got nutmegged in that game, and my mate called it!!!!

Blatch was sooooo much better then Hove Park, when I was there. Hove park was full of inbreds! I presume this is still the case
