Maybe I'm a bit late to the party but having been up to Blackpool early this week for works meetings I was reading the situation regarding Blackpool FC in their local paper in the hotel and their remaining 8 players :

Pre-season tour cancelled. Friendly fixtures due to be cancelled. Sounds like the manager is about to go as well.

And people thought we were having trouble getting players to join us!

Amazing to think they were in the Premiership just 3 seasons ago - how times change.

Sauces say they will be kicked out if they can't field a team

Surely they have youth players / pay per play. Can't see them not having a team at start of season.

*should add that I can't read the attached link

The Oystons almost make Stanley and Archer appear, benevolent. Feel for any fans getting f##ked over like this.

Yes. I was a bit shocked too. I actually had to check back and see it wasn't Birmingham. Didn't realise Blackpool were so ****ed.

Didn't the chairman come out with some balls like "I see this as a positive situation, the manager gets to sculpt his own team rather than anyone elses".....

Nightmare by the sounds of it!

Jose Riga is about to resign apparently. What a shambles,

My mates a Blackpool fan, the owners have basically sold players and kept money for themselves, including the parachute payments they received

Would expect them to pick up the maximum number of loan players and free agents to actually field a team. May well not be competitive but not see them not being able to meet fixtures due to lack of a team.

Havent any sympathy, and its rather funny to watch along with Leeds. Cant blame Jose Riga for wanting out, reportedly he gave Karl Oyston a list of over 50 players, but nothing has happened.

The owner of Blackpool has always been dodgy, but the fans never complained when they were doing well.
