I agree. I did not mind paying for years over inflated prices just to see and help the club, but now if we are to get a fan base back we need to be realistic to today 's issues. I would love to get three/four season tickets for my family but can only afford two, and before anyone mentions the family stand, I do not wish to sit there. To get the "missing generation" the club has to re-think

If the TV money was shared as it was originally in a 4 division set up then we could afford to do it too.

Nail on head. The Premier League make SO much money of the television deals that some, like Blackburn, that play in a proper stadium already, can afford to have season tickets at a slightly lower cost. I bet they rape the likes of Man United for ticket prices too, and they would take thousands there. It's a different ball game I'm afraid.

It's not the club that needs to re-think.

It's the people in charge of the game in this country who need the re-think. All the while these people are sucking the cocks of the Premiership clubs the big TV money will never reach the grass roots clubs except for the occasional cup game.

Lovely thought but it's not going to happen....

If we really want to bring back the lost generation of fans then realistic pricing is the only way I'm afraid.
In my opinion adults with young children and teenagers would be those to target if we just want to fill the place.
Single adults with disposible income are more likely to choose their games on reasons other than price alone.

Just seen Wigan chairman on Sky saying that they get so much money from Sky (he said Wigan get £40m) that they are seriously considering having a number of free matches in future!

My 2 year season at Withdean was £750 for the south stand, which I thought was quite a good deal, but this would get me the best seat in the house at Blackburn and still have some change!

Those are terriific prices to see a prem team. I must admit to a (very) slight soft-spot for them since they won the prem (was it '95 ?).

I have family that live there (unfortunatly) with my Grandad supporting them so i happen to follow the results too, there probably low in cost as 1. It's size in town/city isn't very big and 2. There all tight northerners

Think I read somwehere that after the last TV deal, Prem clubs could afford to let all fans in for FREE, and they would still make more money than they did with the previous deal

f***ing ridiculous. Comparing Prem prices and ours is totally pointless.

f*** OFF, CHAPPERS. The prem and Sky are AMAZING, we should be grateful as a lower league club that we can watch them on tele. Who CARES if we have to pay shed-loads more for our season tickets, we get to watch Wigan V Bolton on a Tuesday night :ascarf:

There was an interesting article about premiership ticket prices on BBC the other day.

They said about Blackburn that their board of directors are worried that Burnley will get promoted and take away supporters who tend to go just to watch the big clubs so they've cut the cost of their season ticket prices to entice more people to watch the club for the entire season rather than on a pay on the gate basis.

They also mentioned that with the money Manchester United generate per game through Sky TV and sponsorship, they could easily afford to let everyone in for free and STILL make a profit.

It was also acknowledged that clubs are aware that people will pay stupid prices to watch the team they support so it's irrelevant how much ticket prices are because the hard core of supporters would still go to home games. THe big four don't make money on the crowd attendance, it's from franchising and sponsorship and that is why so many teams by foreign players because they know that people will buy shirts with their heroes names on the back (ala Drogba in the Ivory Coast)!

We'd all say that football has changed for the worse but who would be upset if the Albion were a top 10 premiership team and went down the above route? I know I wouldn't be!

I think you are wrong, how many times have we filled Withdean, not many. If the club offered a better deal to people with kids/teenagers, and brought down prices even more for students etc we could see a lot more season tickets sold. A full crowd paying half is better than a half ground paying full.

As I posted previously I do not wish to sit in the family stand, been there once and did not like it. I should within reason be able to sit anywhere and still get a deal of sorts. I would like to see a discount for block tickets the more you buy the better the discount.

1. It's Blackburn Rovers. Not even Blackburn Rovers fans have much interest in them.
2. £199 in Lancashire prices translates into £600 in the beautiful south, so game for game, they're probably the priciest season tickets in English Footy.

i wonder if thats cheaper than last year? as said they get a lot of money through sky/premiership deal. put it like this, if they sell 25k x £200 season tickets they get £5m. sounds alot but thats only ~96k a week which is a couple or three premiership players salaries. in other words, its not sustainable without massive alternative sources of revenue.

What I meant was, not everyone would class them as a Premiership club.

I didn't say that was me, but that everyone's opinions are different, that's all.

Who on earth wouldn't?

Only Everton have spent more seasons in the top flight. Villa are also one of only 7 clubs to have never been relegated from the Prem since it's inception.

You literally can't get more Prem than Villa.
