I'm hoping that the slip up at the end vs Brum will mean that we stay switched on for the whole match today, as Rhodes could easily damage us if we have any keystone cop moments. Having said that, they are an absolute shower. Hopefully Appleton is scanning the jobs page of the Blackburn Enquirer as we speak.

3 points tonight and I'd be starting to get VERY excited for the rest of the season. VERY.

Don't quote me on this, however I think as long as he's cleared before Gus presents his team-sheet (19:00?), he can play.
I thought that for him to have played last Saturday, he'd need to have been registered by midday on Friday - so if he's registered today, why can it be so late?

Apologies for quoting you

You may be completely right. I think I might have mistaken international clearance dates with loan signings?
If you are correct, by the sounds of it he wasn't cleared as of last night so not much hope for this evening.. Unless someone is trying a cheeky poker bluff on poor old Blackburn! :D

Fine line tonight. Win and all is good and even dreams of 2nd place are realistic.

Lose and play offs look a big ask , meltdown on here.

Most important game of the season for me (discounting Palace)

Here
Blackburn inflicted my first ever Albion defeat back in '91 (0-3). I have not forgiven them. I thought we were invincible up until then.

I've never forgiven them for beating us in the first Albion game I ever saw (0 - 3, FA Cup 3rd Round 1962) - the same score in our favour would be pretty handy tonight

Big up to El-Abd and Calderon. Could be their 250th and 100th games respectively for the club.

Last Season
N/A

Head-to-head
• These clubs are meeting for the first time in 21 years, since they were in the old Second Division together in 1991/92.
• There's only one win between them after 28 competitive meetings, with Blackburn leading 11-10. Of those, 26 were league games, with Brighton leading by 10 wins to nine.
• The Seagulls have only won three league games at Ewood Park.
Blackburn
• Michael Appleton is searching for a first win from his second game in charge of his third club this season, having seen Blackburn's four-match unbeaten run under caretaker boss Gary Bowyer come to an end with Saturday's 2-1 home defeat by Charlton.
• Blackburn are looking for a fifth home win against a top-half club.
• Every Championship club, with the exception of Barnsley, have seen more goals generated in their home league games than Rovers' 31. The Lancashire club have scored seven fewer league goals at Ewood Park (15) than on their travels (22).
Brighton
• Brighton are unbeaten in four in all competitions, have avoided defeat in six of their last seven league outings, and are two places and five points shy of the play-offs, but on the same points total as at this stage last season.
• Championship games involving the Seagulls have generated fewer goals than any other club (68), and should this match finish all square, would see Gus Poyet's men become the first to draw 12 times in this division this term.
• Adam El-Abd could make his 250th league start in a Brighton shirt, and fellow defender Inigo Calderon, his 100th.

glasfryn - you've missed out the FC in the title. SORT IT!

Love the prematch weekly stats - any chance of the goal scorers from previous meetings too?

Do you want the attendance and weather conditions too?

Actually, don't bother answering that!

Reckon they might play Rhodes, Nunes and Kazim-Richards tonight. Inevitable who will score against his old 'pals' ? :lolol:

Nailed on draw, IMO. Not much good for either side.

I'd take a point today. A mid week trip to the darkests depths of Lancashire, on a cold January night aint gonna be easy. They have one of the strongest squads in the league, and it's only a matter of time till they pick it up in my opinion.

Anyone who thinks this will be a nailed on 3pts is getting a tad too excited i reckon! So i'm going for a 2-2, although, i hope i'm proved wrong!

I'll go further than a draw and say 0-0. Their home goals (and our away conceded) tally is pretty low for their league position.
