A worrying aspect is the Blackburn board are so powerless, the Venkys do not consult them on any of the major decisions (Allardyce's sacking and Keans appointment was done with zero consultation with the board of BRFC).

Hunts email / letter was clearly well intentioned, but he's talking to a brick wall when it comes to the sacking of the manager. Kean is an important yes-man for the Venkys, a cog in the machine along with Anderson. They are a cancer in that club, and I fear we've not seen how far they are going to run them into the ground yet.

Having read Hunts letter in full, I think he comes out of it very well. OK, the first thing he does is ask for a payrise (!!) although as seemingly the sole person in the UK responsible for doing the day-to-day running of the club, he's probably due one.

Its a fascinating read though. He's clearly desperate to engage with the owners and work on solving the miriad of problems at BRFC, not least the disastrous PR side of things, but he is totally powerless to do so. He seems to show genuine concern for the staff at BRFC and the undue pressures some of them are now being put under by fans about what is going on, being as there are no answers from the owners, and as a result no answers from him. They're also breaching their contract with Umbro by having the shirts made in India !!

He's better off out of it.

Just read that letter from Hunt. I honestly think more will come from that, and the Premier League and Football League will get involved sooner or later. It won't be long before Umbro pull the plug on them as well. These are really dark times for BRFC, I fear for their long term future with these three cronies in charge.

I strongly disagree that they got what they deserved. Our home games during 95-6 and most of 96-7 were absolute anarchy, with boycotts, whistles, booing the new manager etc. Not until after Bellotti was actually driven from the directors' box by a group storming the chicken run did attention turn back to what the team was doing. Remember how the pitch invasion of the York game, a desperate measure by desperate supporters, was portrayed in some quarters as mindless hooliganism?

Blackburn fans, having said some time ago what was coming under the current regime, are doing what they think is right to rid the club of a cancer and I have every sympathy for them.

In fairness, it's only coming from about 20% of people on this thread. Most on here appear to be right behind Blackburn's supporters. Hats off to them I say.

Kean lives in cloud cuckoo land, hes a poor manager simple as that, he is also funny with some of the things he says, i like the bit in this interview when he said 'this is exciting times for Blackburn' someone best tell him they have just been relegated.

I have to hold up my hands & admit, I wasn't aware of the extent Steve Kean appears to have his fingers in a very murky chicken pie. I felt he was getting a lot of unfair flack from the fans, doing a difficult job with owners who are clearly not fit & proper despite obviously passing a 'fit & proper test - Everyone knows what a farce that 'test' is anyway.

The Jerome Anderson connection stinks. There's some serious conflicts of interest for sure.

Any sympathy I had for Kean has evaporated over the last 24 hours. The statements he's been coming out with could have been written by Bellotti. Kean must be seriously thick skinned to take the shit he's been getting for basically being the mouthpiece of Venkys. Any 'normal' manager would have walked by now, been sacked or 'left my mutual agreement'.

His statement that "Blackburn have a bright future", "he's here for the long term" plus his backing for Venkys today suggests he's very much filling the Bellotti role at Blackburn. Is all the crap he's getting really worth 1.5 million when he could probably earn a fraction of that somewhere else but be able to go out without looking over his shoulder?

What's going on at Blackburn may be a million miles away from what we once knew & are familiar with from 15 or so years ago. To us, 1996 all seems like a bad dream in these good times. What Brighton Fans shouldn't lose sight of - Back in those times, Blackburn had a very rich owner who was a lifelong fan, just like Tony Bloom. We are rolling the crest of a wave at the moment, HOWEVER, we should never take our eyes off the ball. Should God forbid, for whatever reason, Tony Bloom not be involved anymore with BHA, its up the the guardians & fans of the club alike, to make sure a Venkys style outfit never gain control of the club. We must never get complacent.

Think it could never happen to Brighton? I doubt the Blackburn fans ever thought they would see days like this back when Jack Walker ruled supreme.
