More than meets the eye to this. Venky's took over Blackburn with advice from Jerome Anderson, who just so happens to be the agent of Steve Kean. One of Kean's earliest signings was Myles Anderson who was good enough by the age of 21 to have played 120 seconds for Aberdeen and be released by Leyton Orient without coming anywhere near the first team. Myles, is Jerome's son.

Interesting that Portsmouth's fans are derided for having done nothing whilst Blackburn's who are making their views very clear are also derided.

Whatever else is happening, you have to support the team and manager. He has done brilliantly considering he has had no support from the fans and no money to spend. The owners are a joke who should really just do one, but the fans should look at themselves. They deserve to be relegated.

I remember reading a headline a while back where the owners were quoted as insisting something along the lines of "we will NEVER sack Steve Kean". I wondered if that would come back to haunt them. Don't know if they really care to be honest, I mean sure they'll lose business now Blackburn are in the Championship, but I don't think they could give a rat's arse to be honest.

Is he really that bad? Blackburn have been competitive all the time he has been in charge and maybe if he could have signed players other than, erm, Bradley Orr... He might have had a chance. He has no support from the fans and no backing in the transfer market from atrocious owners.

Hate the owners, love the team. Blackburn fans will feel justified and maybe we would have done no different in their shoes, but they should be ashamed of themselves in my opinion.

The fans don't like Keane as he was a Venky choice. He became manager under dubious circumstances as mentioned in previous postings. I know for a fact that he is hated by just about everyone at the club. He is way out of his depth, but the Venkys won't sack him as they can't afford his pay off and don't want to admit they got it wrong. The club on and off the field has been destroyed by the new owners. A classic example of dodgy foreign investment in British football.

I actually think the problem is the other way round, that some Brighton supporters are overly eager to shoehorn the crisis stories of other clubs to fit the circumstances our club faced in the 1990s. Saw it with Plymouth earlier in the season, where some of our fans vastly overplayed the similarities with Bellotti and Archer, even though many of the dynamics in the situation were rather different.

I was there for all our dark days and was part of the protests - but I am still annoyed at the Rovers fans behaviour. The difference is that our club's existence was literally under threat. For me the Rovers fans just come across as being arrogant. Take a look at their fans forum and you will read many posts that talk about the chance they will now have to win many more matches now they are in the Championship. I think they are in for a big shock and also it shows that they have only been protesting about their inability to win football matches and not the actual survival of their club.

If they had of won a few more matches and not gone down I do wonder if their fans would have been so angry about the Venkeys?

The comparisons aren't overly strong. Brighton fans supported the team, and the manager. Yes, we protested and we kicked up a stink but the targets were the right people. Blackburn fans haven't distinguished between the people who are trying to do their best for the club, Kean and most of the players, and the people who shouldn't be at the club, the Venkys.

Parallels? Well I am certainly not a JCL. I didn't realise that the Venkys were selling Ewood Park.

They have just been relegated from the Premier League not THE League. Three clubs do every season.

I can't believe people are defending Keane whilst the Venkys are an absolute farce and probably taking the club into div 1. They sacked Allardyce, whatever you think of him, with the club comfortably in mid table. Keane was SAs number 3 and instantly given the managers job, with many believing he was instrumental in orchestrating SAs sacking in cahoots with the Venkys. They have all got what they deserve. The fans have been shafted and maybe should have behaved better but at least hey have tried to get some change happening.

Every game has been an away game for Blackburn. what chance did they have with "fans" like that.

I pretty much agree with this. I think Steve Keane has done a half decent job. He's been treated like an outcast and, apart from poor form caused by a lack of investment relative to other clubs, I have no idea why. Unfair, unreasonable and reflected in their results. In the bottom half, clearly half decent isn't good enough. It's pretty brutal.

Blackburn would have gone down even if they had Ferguson in charge but I still have no sympathy for Kean. I do however feel sorry for the players because even if the abuse was never aimed at them it would not be easy playing in those circumstances.

why has he stayed there? he is a bit of an idiot- like staying with a bird who nags all the time - pointless.
