Absolutely yes, but eating strawberries in November maybe less so.

We have a lot of straberry plants on the allotment and a fair few scattered round the garden ( they spread like wild fire ) I haven't seen any for a month or so, but they have grown a few very late in the year.

Yes, was served this for a Valentine Night Meal at a Pub years ago and was very dubious but it works wonderfully.

Balsamic Vinegar might be a step too far... ???

Never thought of it. Had also never thought of a sugar/salt/chili mix on pineapple and other fruit before going to Thailand. Loved that, and still do, so why not this? Could be good.

Yup! Pineapple crumble with a dusting of red chilli. Lovely. (Kerala)

My father had read this and in an attempt to impress my fiancée who worked at the Gavroche, he served her this at lunch when I brought her home to meet him for the first time.

Unfortuately, he had misread and instead of balsamic vinegar, he used balsamic vinaigrette - not the sophisticated flavour sensation that he was looking for...

I saw the Black Pepper - Balsamic Vinegar suggestion a year or so back, I went to try it but bottled the Black Pepper. I do now love sliced Strawberries with Balsamic, with a shake of Icing sugar and a good a good vanilla ice cream... Marvellous!

Yep that's the way to do it, lovely stuff.

Muddle strawberry, freshly cracked black pepper and lime with gin. Strain into a glass of tonic with ice. It's glorious.
