Is he the same guy who had a lengthy ban for taking drugs not really the sort of player Brighton would go for but might be more Leeds United

It was quite contentious. Salzburg supported the player. Anyway, he’s supposedly going to Germany.

His lack of a man bun might rule LUFC out though.

Thanks Biss, I guess we all knew you were on your way, but it was a pleasure seeing you in the stripes. All the best, except when playing us of course.

Does our 'rep' good to be seen as a 'stepping stone' to a CL club in the UK if the player is good enough. We wont stand in your way to making the move to one of the bigger clubs if you come to BHA.

Thanks for the memories Biss. I can say I've never watched a player tackle and come away with the ball, like you do, without fouling the player. I've seen it with my own eyes and think WTF, I still don't see how you did it. You have been a legend and the Tequila song will always remind me of you.

Sad to see him go, but obviously needed to happen. Wish him well.

I'm still undecided on our need to replace him. We are strong in midfield, but Mwepu/Alzate/Lallana's injury record concerns me, plus there is no knowing if Moder can get back up to speed this season. We are perhaps short of a dedicated ball winner which Biss done so well.

A mention of Camara in the Argus plus a young inexperienced opinion positive about the need to replace Bissouma with a new signing.

What a strange article - could almost have been written by two people? Started off with an excellent piece about how Brighton's succession planning has provided for life without Bissouma - Caicedo's excellence, Mac Allister's (unexpected?) tackling ability as a DCM, Alzate to come in, Kozlowski in the pipeline - then, suddenly ...... bang! Who will Brighton get in to replace Biss? - they'll certainly need to and the fans expect it.
Strange ,,,,, sub-editor reading the article and saying, 'No, we're not having that - need a bit of clickbait - who's coming in? - what an exciting transfer window this will be!' etc.)
Perceived need of clickbait - that's my take!

Caicedo; Mac Allister; Alzate.

Thinking about the price it seems to me to suit both parties to play down the amount. Spurs can boast about getting a bargain and we can plead poverty in our dealings for further players.
It’s all about willie waving in the end isn’t it.

Indeed it is, and while we're on the subject £30m is enough to buy a score-shooter

Caicedo; Mac Allister; Alzate.

I’d argue Biss plays in a different way to those three. All of those can be deep but I’m not sure any are suited to the deepest midfield role. It negates their ability higher up the field. Biss has insane DM stats, the best in pretty much the World over the last two seasons. Getting in another full time, specialist DM makes a lot of sense, and the Camara signing seems such a Brighton one that I’m sure there’s some truth in it.
It’s about options.

Agree with this argument. Yves effectively dropped into the defence on many occasions when Cucu or Veltman were marauding forward. I don't see Mwepu or Caicedo as that sort of player, they need to be up the pitch more.

It wouldn't amaze me if we were in for someone, maybe the Coventry lad.

Did he pass his medical this morning?

I don’t suspect there will be any issue but he was on crutches on Sunday with a knee and ankle injury so would certainly like to be a fly on the wall!

If they want to shape the midfield in a similar manner, that is. If you want to play two or three box-to-box midfielders you might not need a Bissouma type player, compared to if you want to play Lallana and you need someone with more mobility and strength to compensate for him being mainly attack-minded.

I wouldn't be surprised if no one is brought in to replace him.

SSN reporting he has passed the medical, looks like an announcement later today.

If there is an announcement, I hope the rumoured “much more than £25m” figure becomes clearer and - most importantly - the one that’s ‘officially’ used in reference to this deal.

At the moment, all the media are using £25m, or even £22.5m.

When it comes to buying players from other clubs that wouldn't necessarily do our negotiating position any favours. I'm sure it is the club's interest to ensure lower figures are quoted wherever possible.
