That's odd I heard it was a fractured shoulder and he'd be out for 8-12 weeks.

There's a few more details in the Argus story but upshot is, i think, Club knew about this, wanted him to have the op this summer (not after Afcon) and have now cleared it with Mali doctors (who presumably wanted to check it first) .
Confirms other reports that he'll miss "start of season" but no stab at recovery time beyond that.

It is understood Bissouma does not have a fracture, as has been reported. He suffered an injury several years ago which caused him problems during matches last season.

A source at the Guillou Football Academy in Bamako, where Bissouma received his footballing education, recalls him requiring treatment for a shoulder issue as a teenager.
