I find the notion of someone not recognising party rings offensive on a primal level.

They were the only reason I wanted to go to birthday parties as a child, sod the games, party rings were where the cool kids went. And me.

I've just googled them, and they were first made by fox's Biscuits in 1983. I turned 30 that year and so was not going to many children's parties then.

The fact that I have got two daughters of my own has nothing to do with it..... And having seen pictures, I would not have known they were called party rings anyway.

But rest assured I was not intending to offend anyone!
