L'anse Aux Meadows, the current confirmed Viking settlement is a 12-14hr drive north-west from here. I'm looking forward to hopefully making it up there at the end of August.

The newly discovered potential Viking site (http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/newfoundland-labrador/vikings-newfoundland-1.3515747) is a mere 9 hours away. Would be fun to explore that too! As part of my current blog I will definitely be spending some time in the area, at least.
