Might be worth telling the OB. It's highly likely they'll wanna sell it, possibly using Cash Converters or the like.
this may be a stupid question, from someone who doesn't own a bike, but why on earth would you want to own a £700 bike?!
Surely the difference between a £80 odd bike and a £700 bike can't be that much?

only went for an hour of footy on the astroturf, wish I caught them at it.
Apologies if this causes offence to anyone who knows him, but what about that beer gutted old bloke that runs the crappy little cycle shop in side street off London Rd towards Level. Looks like the sort of place a stolen bike may end up, without the shopowners knowledge of course.

Was it on the bike loops at the front - have you asked if there's any joy on the CCTV? May have caught someone in the distance- give an idea which direction it went. Can you post a picture of the model - any unusual marks, that you may have personalised it with? I'm a teacher in Worthing so will ask the scroats if they hear anything. I locked my similar mountain bike up with a motorcycle lock there a I was so paranoid about something happening to it. Fingers crossed for a miracle.
I know it's probably a bit of a pain in the arse, but for future reference it's worth using two kinds of lock on the bike, a D lock and a chain or wire one.
The logic behind this is that the sort of shits who go out thieving bikes will tend to carry either bolt croppers or a hacksaw, but not both (it's a lot harder to explain to police if you're stopped & you're carrying both items). Thus having 2 different locks can be the difference between your bike going walkies and the next, easier one.
Also not helped by the fact that we beat you 4-1 mate did it mate!
One street I used to live on in town would often be littered with bolt cut bike locks after a van would turn up in the night, tear every locked bike from the railings up the road and bundle them in the back before driving off. The problem is what are you supposed to do? High density housing dictates that there is no chance of keeping your bike indoors all the time and no matter how strong the lock you buy, there always seems to be a way round it for the criminals.
