That's not the point, really. When Celtic v Rangers was relevant I, and many others would know both squads almost as well as we know Premier League teams' players. It was a big UK sporting occasion.
It isn't any more.
I will be glued to the TV tomorrow.just you and me tomorrow then mate
I'm struggling to name a River Plate player tbh ,[/QUOTE
I'm with you and Dangull. It's a huge derby. It's so much more than just about the football.
Yeah, there's always the River Plate Vs. Boca Jrs rivalry in Brazil. I include this video simply because I found the commentary quite funny, but there are usually riots and pitch invasions and armed police running all over the show
A lot of the Sussex folk here are a bit naïve how big this game is.
El Clasico is FAR bigger than the Old Firm game, whether on a sporting level or with regard to the political history and overtones of the fixture.
Fleetwood v Blackpool is coming up next weekend.
since sky tv
Roma v Lazio is pretty severe. The Milan derby is a big one.
Rangers v Celtic is huge in Scotland and nowhere else.
Roma v Lazio is pretty severe. The Milan derby is a big one.
Strange statement. With the exception of El Classico, you'll probably most derbies are only of interest in the countries in which they occur. Roma and Lazio and the Milan derby are not going to make front page news.
I'm sure they are,but playing in shared stadiums, never really got that
Absolutely. To my mind, the nearest you've come there is Barca and Real.More so than Mersey, Manchester Nth London, Rome, Real v Barca or Madrid derby etc.?
