Indeed. What a dick.

Saints - Pompey has its moments, its true, but top 3? Idiot.

See Millwall - Hammers / Manchester derby / Man U - Liverpool / Man U - Leeds / Leeds - Bradford / Villa - Birmingham / Toon - Sunderland / Swansea - Cardiff / and about ten more, for further details....
Indeed. The Hampshire derby is only a slightly bigger affair than our own squabble with the Nigels or Luton-Watford and well behind Forest-Derby which features two clubs who have both been successful title winners in living memory. Indeed that one is so big that Forest supporters don't even care about the one other club in their own city.

Would agree with Fergie on this. The Tv audiences don't lie and the person who posted saints v Pompey being in top 3 must live in cloud cuckoo land!!

. Most people with a decent level of interest in football are interested in Barca-Real Madrid, which is why I'd put it top.

Rubbish. Most people couldn't give a stuff about it..........................................

Being pedantic, it's not the 'Hampshire Derby' it's the South Coast Derby. It's also not a football rivalry, but a rivalry between the two cities.

Being pedantic it's A South Coast Derby. It may not be as mahoosive but Albion vs Bournemouth/Pompey/Southampton are also South Coast Derbys n'est pas?

Whatever. There is a game being played in league one this weekend that is traditionally a much bigger game than your derby.

Derbies between different areas always make more impact than local derbies. Everton v Liverpool, Man Utd v Man City do not have the same impact down south. They all Scousers and Mancurians.

Still, the animosity between the two teams in Bristol is real enough.

From secondhand reports in the past, Real Madrid v Barcelona, Celtic v Rangers, and Man U v Leeds generated huge rivalry. It changes from year to year. I cannot ever see Real Madrid v Barcelona, Celtic v Rangers, or Brighton v Palace ever disappearing. If different cultures are adversaries the reasons go deeper than football.

Yes, the Sheffield derby is easily bigger than Saints and Pompey.

JJB is typical Southampton, deluded.

The size of these things are relative to the individual.

Brighton v Hull, to me is bigger than any other so called big game anywhere in the world, (England included, couldn't give a flying). Brighton losing hurts me, winning makes me happy.

To me, the biggest club game in the world is Brighton v Palace, to JJB it's Saints v Pompey and to Ferguson it's Man Utd v Liverpool. Relative to the individual.
