Back in the 1970's the GPO was the biggest employer in Brighton. Included the Telephones then of course

That was also about the time we went to Luton away and huge Brighton mobs were roaming the streets, breaking into the ground and occupying the Oak Road. Very naughty but a famous following that day.

I ran with 'The West Street' that day when Sunderland came to town.

I reckon there was about 235,000 of us with hatchets and spanners.

Grown Mackems weeping like wee bairns.

Claret.

Bodies.

Nawty.

Some of the lads was out of line.

It was ugly and yet beautiful.

I would have thought that Public sector must be bigger than any Private sector firm located within Brighton.

That said the Albion on match days must be a big firm employing stewards, catering, shop, ect.

Hey, I was at Dentsply too in the early 80's, sending teeth all over the world.

Quite liked that job but just how much are people now paying for my draughty old office and no view?

Definitely. Back in the day they were the biggest around; wouldn't have liked to get caught up in that scene if them two had a comin' together
