Rarely bet but put £20 at 8-1 on Iceland to beat England in Euro 2016.

Also our lottery syndicate won £1000000 but there were two million of us in it.

Cheltenham Festival 2020 just before lockdown. I had two separate antepost trebles that were landed by Samcro winning the Turners novice chase by a nostril. Won just over £10k on the wife’s skybet account on top of some decent ante post singles too. The account didn’t last long after that !!
Here’s the photo finish that I still have on my phone.

I’d had a great Cheltenham and had plenty of ante post bets but had left these off my spreadsheet for some reason, I’m very methodical in my betting & record everything but these slipped through the net.
Only found out at about 23:00 when I was trawling my accounts to see if there were any surprises, turns out there was !!

Was gambling for a living then so it just got washed up with my other “earnings” especially as covid struck soon after.

I won a cool three hundred pounds off an 11 team ACCA last season. Suddenly everyone wanted my tips.

:lolol:

Nerves/time pressure in front of 5m.

I arrogantly thought I'd make £10k if ever I was chosen.
I literally quaffed several large shots of vodka, straight from the bottle, prior to being on there.
The only stipulations were 'don't swear' and ''don't ask for autographs'.
As if....I just wanted the £'s. :)

Leaving work at 5 I used to get home just in time to call.

For being a regular gambler - not that far off 30 years now! working in betting shops and help compile odds occasionally on snooker and low-level football, mine is surprisingly low.

I won £450 on John Higgins £30 @ 14/1 at the 2007 World Championship snooker. He was unstoppable, beating Ronnie O'Sullivan and Mark Selby along the way.

Also had a strange bet when Setanta Sports were covering the Blue Square Bet Premier and a Thursday night match between Crawley v Ebbsfleet on a cold November night. I got the £10 first scorer (Crawley's Jamie Cook - 5/1?), Ebbsfleet to win 2-1 (11/1) and incredibly the scorecast (250/1) which came to an eye-watering £442. I remember the last 20 minutes feeling absolutely sick and just wanted throw-ins and goal kicks to break up the play. At the end, I was the only one in the Crawley end to clap the players off! so relieved!

So when I have a bet now, it usually always is a £20 team to win and BTTS to get an average £75 win. The buzz of it for the next few hours is a brilliant feeling. But I can't bet on all the elite leagues around the world because of VAR - that brings on dangerously high blood pressure.

At Southampton ground in the Channon suite ( brother in law has corporate tickets) about 8 of us. Early Poyet days, can’t beat against Brighton so had a £5 bet at 200/1 Glenn Murray to score first Brighton to win 3-1. Glenn scored first and we got to 3-1 with about 8 minutes left ( only time I didn’t want us to score again)😂
Thanks Glenn the team and Ladbrokes for the £1000. 👍
