[Football] Biggest 3rd round shock?

The BBC call our result with the Gunners tonight a ‘shock away victory’ but with our 4-1 win at home to Chelsea and drawing 3-3 at Anfield, (as well as our big away wins at the end of last season) it’s not so shocking to me given the way Brighton have been playing. Slightly niffed that Brighton still don't get the media respect it fully deserves at times.🤷‍♂️

More shocking - Blackburn knocking out West Ham or maybe Spurs being knocked out by Forest?

The Albion result was hardly a shock. Most neutrals would look at it and not raise an eyebrow.

Arsenal throwing on the stars and still not getting a sniff - at home - yes it’s a shock. We should never beat a top 6 side let alone away. Drink it in 👍

Top 6 against top 6 is not a shock, Fortunately I put a couple of quid on us when we went 1 down. Happy days.

It wasn't there full reserves, granted, so agree with you there. However, it's surely not a shock. We are more than capable of beating the top 6 sides away from home now. It's not a shock imo.
But my point is with the silly money they spend we really shouldn’t be. We will never have these times again - don’t take for granted just how special they are 👍 it is a surprise result for sure. Bookies had us 4/1… but who cares, we’ll take it.

I thought that was moody, I wasn't that shocked.

Wonderful game, walking in to muzza on ITV with Jules too

Beating the Arsenal reserves with a fairly strong team was not a shock by any means.
I'd say Nottingham beating Spurs was more surprising.
You're not looking close enough. Most of that Arsenal side have each got more PL games under their belt than Mitoma, Enciso, Sarmiento, Lamptey, Steel, and Colvill. They could bring on top players who, in the end, did next to nothing. Our subs shored up the victory

A shock in terms of Arsenal being top of the Premier league, unbeaten at home and that generally they are expected to win.

Isn’t BBC Sport staffed at a high level by a Palace fan/fans? Hence Glenn Murray always being referred to as an ex Crystal Palace striker (no mention of the Albion) when he’s commenting on BBC Sport game coverage. I bet they were shocked, the bonus is they went out in the best way, a penalty shootout

Since the beginning of last season Arsenal have played 33 home games. They've won 25 of those, drawn 2 and lost 6. Therefore them losing a home game looks like a bit of a shock. Perhaps until you consider the opponents that they have lost those six games to:

Against last season's top three:
Man City - played one, lost one, Liverpool - played two, lost two and Chelsea played one, lost one.

Against Brighton - played two lost two.

I though Lincoln beating Bristol City was quite a surprise seeing as they lost to Chippenham Town in the FA cup at the weekend.
