Fortress Amex. You hear clubs saying all the time how difficult it is to play at the Amex.

Come to Amex, attack - and you lose.

Any theories as to why? Maybe the team do feel as though the crowd are behind them, despite what many on here say?

Actually it’s the ‘Richest 7’ since Newcastle were bought out by dirty oil money!

Personally, I think the Amex has a fantastic atmosphere although I’m not sure it’s the fans that are responsible for our home wins against some money rich clubs - apart from our beloved NS fans, Brighton fans are not the best at filling the stadium with supportive chants and singing.

I think it’s maybe more to do with the football - most teams play a more attacking game when they play at home - so do we.

Although tbf both Man City and Man United have not been at their best when we’ve played them at home this season - we are attacking very well under Hürzeler generally - it’s more direct and our passing more efficient- no one wins matches just on passing more than anyone else or having 75% possession.

We're not bad against that lot, and the other big-time teams like Everton, West Ham, Leeds, Newcastle.

We seem to really struggle putting away the smaller but decent mid-table teams, ones that play with confidence and a bit of verve without being arrogant - our peers really, teams like us. This season that's Fulham, Brentford, Bournemouth, Forest, the number of wins against teams like these since we've been promoted is tiny and would be nice to change that.

Well it makes a change from our first few seasons. In those early days when we played a Big Six team we were happy to just park the bus and try and keep the score down. Even sending someone up to the halfway line to do the coin toss was seen as being a bit reckless. We never thought we'd be able to compete with them.
