He was excellent, as were Cucurella and Veltman.

But I can’t understand how anyone can not give Bissouma man of the match?!

I can, all our players had good games tonight. Biss got caught in possession a couple times including one very dangerous moment resulting from so he doesn’t get MoTM for me because of. You had to have a truly outstanding match to win it tonight there weee so many candidates and BDB versus Man Mountain and one of the best strikers in the world for a decade is why Dan edges it. IMO obviously.

Most notable move from him was when Hudson-Odoi was through on goal, BDB was shouting at Veltman to go to him, great shout as it would've killed the game had he scored or picked out a pass.

No credit at all to BDB on the TV from the Chelsea pricks. Old fashioned man-marking job on the best #9 in the League. Credit to Potter too for that tactic.

Really tough assignment for Burn today against the best hold up player i've ever seen.

Thought he did well. He won a few battles and lost a few.

He should have been on Lukaku instead of Azpilcueta for the goal, but I guess that was some rather odd tactical thing.

Passed the ball calmly and effectively all night.

Townsend said BDB was terrified of Lukaku so just hung on to him for 90 minutes, I could be wrong but I always thought that was man marking, he gave him no space to play in, tremendous performance from the big fella.

Lukaka had him on toast at the start of the game for the first 25 minutes or so - he won everything - but BDB improved as the game went on and was superb second half. Lukaku tiring helped.

Personally thought Veltman was better at the back - flawless performance.

As you say though, great team performance.

Brilliant performances from Burn and Veltman today.

What to do when we have Webby, Shane, Dunky?

At this point the part of my brain which deals with team selections completely malfunctions.

All I do know, is that Burn is improving as fast as anyone in our squad

I have to hold my hands up and say I was not a huge fan, he has proven me more than just wrong.......hey what do I know, except that BDB is not only a quality central defender, but is very disciplined and can even fill in at left back.
I am Sorry Dan I was wrong!!

He had a very difficult job tonight, marking Romelu Lukaku, and he did a great job

I have to hold up my hands twice because I went on record as saying I didn't see the need to sign Veltman when we had such a glut of central defenders. But BDB and Veltman were magnificent. By the second half, Burn had got Lukaku's measure and was playing him just the right way. And when he was beaten for once, Veltman was covering. And alongside them, Cucurella showed almost uncanny anticipation. I lost count of the number of interceptions he made.
