Well you got your wish :)

I think in his two matches Ive seen i now thoroughly understand why Potter hasnt played him - Sanchez clearly doesnt like the tippy tappy stuff from the back and played hoofball for most of the match which didnt work out too bad in the end but is not the "Potter Way"

From my observations, I don't believe "The Potter way" is a rigid style of play.
It's more about doing what ever the opposition aren't expecting.
Players are expected to adapt to the opposition and game conditions.

Ryan has been going long increasingly often, particularly away from home.
And also used to when BDB was on the left.

Sanchez knocked it about at the back a bit yesterday too.
His kicking looked to be very good.

I wouldn’t agree with that, Sanchez is very good with ball to feet and was certainly tapping it around the defence with the rest of the back 3.. seems like he fits the Potter way to me...

Plus he saves shots. He won us a point last night.

Corrected for you

Dunk didn’t half scream at Sanchez after he made one save but didn’t immediately get both hands on the ball!

I read that differently.
Sanchez made a good reaction save, dived headlong into the thick of it to block the second attempt and then scrambled through limbs to grab the ball.

Dunk then thumped him pretty hard on the back at the same time as yelling in his ear.
I took it to be an old school D&D type assault on the keeper, after some top work. (Stockdale penalty save against massive, came to mind)

disagree, Sanchez can only get used to the potter way of playing by playing more games. If we're really honest, he was probably bricking it last night, knowing that if he didn't perform well it may have been his final chance to impress, and he probably didn't take too many risks as a result.

He also played a lovely ball to lallana at one point last night, I think he can definitely learn 'the passing way'. And at the end of the day, he made saves and kept a clean sheet, which is more than can be said for Ryan. If all we want from a keeper is an ability to pass it around the back then we may as well start Alzate in goal.

It's weird that he doesn't seem to get on the bench but Steele does but gets the nod over Steele.

I had assumed that he was the GK for the U23s and covering third choice for the first team.
That's not the case though.

It seems he is probably being denied a loan season in the championship, due to him currently covering Walton.
It makes sense to give him development opportunities wherever possible.Turns out that's in the Premier League.

Fair play to the lad.

By playing regularly for the U23, Sanchez is match sharp and ready. Steele isn't.

That's how I read it too.

Exactly this. Dunk was showing the love.

Man; I’m delighted re the rise of Bobby- well done to him and the club for developing him so well...

Maty has been a superb GK, away at Newcastle a couple of seasons back it was his turn to win us the points he was utterly brilliant that afternoon ... he’s lost confidence (see Shane Duffy leaving...) with no one dominating the box at times ... that and it’s clear he’s susceptible to long range worldies on occasion ... size or confidence? Mostly the latter, he needs a long rest and maybe he’ll return better for it ... a move may also best for him, a new start etc.

Anyway, well done Bobby ... keep it up on Sunday and we will bring home the points.

Surprised no one has mentioned Ben Roberts’ input in all this yet.

Seems to be highly regarded at the club

I don't think last night is really one to judge, I think Ryan would have made all those saves and probably the Loftus Cheek one much more comfortably - Sanchez dived early and his long legs saved him.

I think Sanchez is in the side more for his height and presumed ability to claim crosses and corners. We didn't see that last night because Fulham didn't threaten at all from those areas, but not sure they put in any decent cross all night. Sheffield surely will. Ryan choosing to punch one Leicester cross that was below chest height may well have been the last straw for Potter.

I felt Sanchez played a lot of long clearances because he was nervous, more so than his actual ability with the ball at his feet, that will come I hope.

His development is nothing to do with us its all down to Rochdale and their manager Brian Bielsa-Murphy

It's all about opinions, but I don't agree.
RLC scored for Chelsea against us from a very similar position.
Only that time he put it in the top corner.

Without wishing to bang on about it, Maty does not fill the goal in the same way Sanchez does.
A decent forward, given that position, has a split second more to pick his spot, against Ryan.
