After months of trouble and my third broken spoke I’m going to get some new ones. Never bought them before. How much should I pay?

I’ve got a two year old alloy Cannondale road bike with disc brakes that cost about £1200. I commute through west London maybe 50 miles a week and go for the occasional longer spin at the weekend. So the wheels have done about 3000 miles. I’d like the new ones to last longer and go faster. I’m also on the large side. Any ideas gladly welcomed before I ask my local bike shop and go along with whatever they say.

buy new wheels? or is there some reason new spokes, and the time&cost to fit them would be better?

The hub is going to need replacing at some point, the mechanics have said, and as it’s a proprietary piece of kit you can’t do that without rebuilding the wheel and you might as well get a new one as it’s done 3k and the spokes keep pinging off.

Should be able to get a wheel set for £200 ish which is bearable.
