We'll see I guess. The right back market is not very fun this summer (just like last one) and it would most likely need to be someone who firmly pushes Lamptey & Veltman aside. Would not be surprised if we stick with them and Hinshelwood.
Assuming we go with three CBs and two wingbacks this season, I don't see Veltman as an option for RWB, which means it's down to Hinshelwood and Lamptey -- not entirely comfortable with that personally.

Wonder if we're looking at Rasmus Kristensen at all. 27 like KWP, plays for Leeds but spent last season on loan at Roma. Edit: Or Coventry's Milan van Ewijk.

Played there a lot under Potter and was one of our best players during that time.

The key bit of that is 'during that time'. IMO, there's been a noticeable recent drop-off in terms of Veltman's pace and mobility.
Don't think there was much of that to begin with. I hope/think he was poor last season due to being asked to do the impossible (catching up with pacy wingers whenever we lost the ball). He's not the future and he's not mr Modern Wing Back, but I certainly think he could do well for another season despite the dip last season.

This -- he's just not pacy enough for it or a good enough crosser IMO, not when our wide players are so central to our offensive tactics.

Agreed. I'd be happy with him as a back-up option, but we undoubtedly need a new signing as first choice in that position, IMO.

Talking of right-backs, what is your view on Casper Nilsson? He's had two full seasons in the U-21s, contracted to next summer (possibly with a club option, but unconfirmed) - so presumably a bit of a make-or-break campaign coming up. Do you rate him? What is the view of him in Sweden (if there is one). Heard any rumours of a loan for him?

From what I've seen in the U21 and also in the national U21 team, he will go on to have a good professional career but Premier League might be out of reach. Not a word about him in Sweden... not sure clubs are even aware of his existence because it seems like a sensible loan deal for any mid/bottom Allsvenskan team.

He was injured when he came back, his knee always seemed heavily strapped.

Last season we used James Milner at RB at the Etihad where he couldn't cope with the pace of Doku. RDZ saw his mistake and replaced him with Joel with the result that Doku was himself taken off because he was getting nowhere. It's not all about pace as he showed repeatedly against Zaha
