[Albion] BHAFC: Premier League club with League One retail department

Second Nike training kit item in a row I've ordered from the Albion online shop for my kids... only to be told, several days later, that actually it's not available.

This is after going to the club shop on Saturday and being told, "We don't stock those here [er, why?], but they're online".

My 11-year-old has been asking when the joggers are due to arrive at least twice a day since ordering.

Now I've got to give him the bad news. Well, thanks retail division. Thanks a lot.

Why are there always supply problems? Why is the stock level on an online shop not live in 2024?!

(And, if we're being really picky, why is there no longer an option to collect at store, to save postage/resources?)

It's hard to make an argument for our retail operation being anything other than absolutely shite. Do we have a separate warehouse or something, because I've been similarly confused by the 'we don't stock it here, but it is available online'. Also agree that having some sort of live stock monitoring online is surely a must these days?

It's the same shit just without the club badge and a bit cheaper. And, crucially, in stock.

I can never I understand the strategy of not stocking the basic things that us punters want, and churning out as much variety of other other stuff that they can invent.
Basic economics should tell them that they need to offer fewer items to be in a position to stock the stuff people want.
They also need to drop Nike who are something of a disgrace.

Does anyone know if the club is aware that the merchandise situation - stocking, quality, selection, availability, marketing etc - is LIGHTYEARS behind the rest of the club (which is generally incredibly high level)?

I kind of think were the club to release the exact amount of items it's dispatched, for each year over the last 5, our flabber would be well and truly agast.

That might be part of the problem, we're a very well run. The club wants to make sure it doesn't end up with a load of out of date stock at the end of the season have to sell it off cheap like so many other clubs do. You could say we are incredibly well run in the merchandise area, we never have any left over stock at the end of the season. .

I advocated creating own merch with iron-on badges on NSC more than 10 years ago.

The club removed them from shelves just days later (a coincidence, I'm sure) - and AFAIK they've never been back?

If I can find mine (I bought 3 or 4), some DIY is definitely on the cards!

It amazes me that the magic algorithm can pick up a kid from a far flung corner of South America who we can develop and sell for getting on for a 100 million quid in profit but we can't get close to predicting how many people are going to buy replica shirts or trackie bottoms from the shop.

Said this before but I don't think the club wants to focus on making Nike more money when we've already got our benefit through the sponsorship. The general standard of the merch is very poor though.

I tried to buy an online voucher as a Xmas gift. Not possible. You have to buy a plastic gift card and then pay extortionate postage to have it sent to you. Back to the 90s!
