Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club partners with Pogoseat® to give fans the ability to move seats at the AMEX.
Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club have today agreed a partnership with ticketing technology company, Pogoseat. Pogoseat’s award-winning ticket upgrade solution has been highly successful with other top-tier sports teams and live-entertainment venues in enhancing the fan experience and generating new revenue streams.
Pogoseat has partnered with multiple sports teams across North America since the company was founded in 2012. The technology is first of its kind and has been proven to be very popular amongst fans across the NBA, MLB, NHL, NFL and MLS. The Amex Stadium will be the first of many venues across the UK and Europe to provide fans with real-time offers such as seat upgrades.
Kiran Patel, CEO of Pogoseat, commented, “We are excited to be partnered with a club who are as highly innovative in their approach to mobile technology as we are. This season is an exciting time to launch with Brighton & Hove Albion. As football fans ourselves, it is our mission to provide supporters with the ability to improve their match day experience by giving them the freedom to move seats, gain access to lounges and go behind-the-scenes”.
Brighton & Hove Albion FC have an innovative approach to technology and this partnership proves once again the clubs commitment to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to technology. Jenny Gower, Head of Ticketing & Supporter Services commented, “We believe that Pogoseat’s technology will offer season-ticket holders a great opportunity to try different seats and viewing areas here at the Amex and we hope our fans will enjoy using it. This new system will allow supporters to change seats and purchase 1901 seating with lounge access in real-time on their mobile phones, taking the pro-rata cost of their season ticket seat off the cost of the new replacement ticket. The new ticket barcode will be available to scan at the corporate reception, directly from the mobile phone which we hope will be a popular service to our season-ticket holders."
Pogoseat’s technology is an integrated solution with the clubs primary ticketing partner, SeatGeek. Peter Joyce, Managing Director (UK Sport) at SeatGeek Enterprise said; “We are delighted to be the partnered with Pogoseat. When we were approached by our client Brighton & Hove Albion FC to review the partnership opportunity with Pogoseat it was clear that the offering would benefit the fans by introducing a real-time upgrade facility direct from the mobile phone and the club would also benefit from the reduced queues at the ticket office as a result. We are always happy to review new technology and help drive innovation and look forward to the launch.
SeatGeek Enterprise, the company’s primary ticketing platform, also introduces a radically different approach from that of ticketing industry incumbents. Through its open architecture, SeatGeek Enterprise most recently announced a distribution partnership with Facebook, allowing SeatGeek Enterprise clients to sell tickets directly through the social media platform.
The new seat move functionality will be available via the Seagulls Tickets website. Supporters can enter their FAN number associated to their Seagulls profile to receive a credit for their original ticket value. They will be able to browse a map of the stadium and check out what the view looks like from their new seat. Once a purchase is completed, fans will use the new digital ticket to gain entry into the stadium by scanning their mobile device to enter the stadium.
