Wasn't Green one of the first kit used by the club in the early 1900s?

Yes it was, and as a result, we were called The Greenbacks.

It's a stuck-on sponsor patch on the home shirt is it? If so, that's lame and I won't be having one but yes the black top is pretty smart.

I love the front of the shirt but really dislike (read that as hate) the back - either have it all white or all blue. Even all stripes would be better!

Just wear it under a jacket. Or even a cape.

I really like these. Last season's shirt was the first Amex era kit that didn't have me vomiting in a bucket yet NOW I find myself trying to justify buying BOTH of these as well. Maybe it'd make up for all those years living abroad without the latest Albion shirt. #badfan

It must be just me, but I’m trying to find a picture of the back of the new striped home shirt, and I can’t find one anywhere.

Can someone post please?

Indeed. Our current away kit of green shirts, white shorts, black socks were the club colours back in 1898 when we were Brighton United. I believe Tony Bloom suggested this strip as second choice clobber for last season.

Is the away kit black because following the Albion away is akin to attending a funeral?

In a pile of football shirts
It’s definitely not a transfer. The letters are though, just like the past 2 shirts

To be fair these days pretty much all sponsor logos are done this way (heat pressed), especially on nike/adidas/puma kits, including for the mega clubs like Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid etc.

I really like the new home kit. I like the darker blue and the thinner stripes. I will make my mind up when I get to see it for real before deciding, but I may be persuaded to actually to purchase one.

Don't think you've grasped the commercial nature of modern football kit design.

(Also, there's plenty of history of yellow, and even a bit of green if you go way, way back).

I don't care about the history of decades back and I'm sure that's true for the majority of fans. The club's colours are blue and white and our away shirts should feature those two colours designed so that it's sufficiently different from the home kit. It always strikes me as ridiculous when away fans turn up in home kit shirts and scarves while their team trots onto the field in something completely different.

I swear if I see people wearing these over the next few days I won't even notice.

Any news on the colour of the new home strip shorts?
And personally, I would prefer last seasons yellow kit as our new away kit.
