BHA v Crawley Town - League 1 Fixture Odds 2012/2013

Watching the League 2 playoffs I really don't think that Crawley Town will find it too difficult to do a Stevenage & be playing in League 1 in August 2012, especially given their player budget.

So can the Albion continue to keep ahead of our north Sussex cousins?

In Gus & Tony we trust - however, let's be realistic even with a fullish Falmer our crowd attendance will be average in the championship. From a financial perspective we cannot compete with the three clubs relegated from the Premiership & many of the rest have quality experienced championship proven players to which we don't have.

Early days of course but no championship standard players have joined us & our leading forward has moved to our arch rivals.

I am not suggesting that we will be cannon folder, however, most of the championship teams will be looking to get into the promise land & there will be at least two bigger clubs if not three who will fall through the trap door.

So it begs the question in 2012/2013 will there be 4 divisions between the Sussex teams or none?

I bet the odds are greater for both teams to be playing in League 1 than us in the Premiership & them in League 2.

the chances of us getting promoted again next season are slim so yes, the odds of us both being in league one probably ARE greater but that's like saying the odds of me pulling Joe Pasquale out of my bum are greater than the odds he's hiding in my cupboard: neither are likely as far as I can see. We HAVE got a championship standard player in the shape of Hoskins (considering that unlike Murray he actually has Championship experience) and the season hasn't even properly finished yet so give us a chance to get hold of some players. In 2012/2013 I would expect to see one league between us and Crawley and I wouldn't be totally surprised to see us spend a good two or three seasons in the Championship, in which case, Crawley could realistically make it up there while we're there.

Could see Crawley doing pretty well next season and possibly getting into league 1, but I can't see us getting relegated. Bloom has invested too much to let us fall back down into league 1, it's onwards and upwards now.

Far too well prepared (or will be!) to continue being a yo-yo club. Having watched that pile of poo on TV between 6th/7th in L2, thank God we're rid of that !!

There's more chance of us and creepy Crawley meeting in the Championship than meeting in League 1. Cant honestly see us getting relegated from the Championship with the infrastructure we now have and I honestly think that Crawley are developing the infrastructure to be climbing the leagues over the next 6 or 7 years..

rumour round here in Crawley is that they have not even touched the £2.3M they made from the cup run and still have an option of using some far easten investment if they need it? So I think they can go on and be a force in league 2 and then league 1.

Brighton vs. Crawley in League 1 for 2012 - 13? I don't think so - the last times we went up to the Championship we were absolute minnows, punching well above our weight. This time round, as well a good manager, we are likely to have crowds which are at least average for the Championship; we won't be minnows this time round - that doesn't mean we can't come a cropper, but I don't think we will.
Crawley have money, certainly.................but the further they go up in the world, the less success that money will buy. If they ever get up as far as the Championship, they will be minnows there.

I agree-if Crawley really took off they would take fans from both-however i feel we could sustain decent crowds from the South coast strip.
