Guess what GAV - I 100% agree with you. He deserved applause alone for not celebrating - it's not like Cox wanted to leave - he didn't get offwered a new deal. Simple. He was brilliant last night in not celebrating. I heard a couple of clueless twats booing and rightly told em to shut up. Idiots.

Skills - You are right about the not having played football on here. You'll often find it's the ones on here with the biggest opinions who have never actually played the game... As for El Abd passing back - It's good to play the way you're facing sometimes - I can't stand the restless murmours at Withers when we pass it accross the back line - do these people want us to just hoof it like yrs gone by? They're IMPOSSIBLE to please some of em!

:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2: :thumbsup: :lolol:

I do seriously agree though, People booing Cox were clueless.

Several times we were passing it about nicely in the first half and the moany old git sat a few rows in front of me kept shouting 'Come ON - get if forward!'. Then when we actually did send a long pass that didn't go quite right he shouted 'Dont just bloody hoof it'. How are you supposed to please THAT?

that is, arguably, my favourite thing that happens at withdean. the impatience of people around me screaming "get it forward", then when it does go forward hastily and is inevitably lost "for f*** sake, keep the ball"

its even better when it happens at wembley at england games, especially with the pedestrian way ferdinand and terry used to knock it about across the back line

brilliant :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

Gus is doing a fantastic job and I believe that we will make the play offs this season. The problem is that if you keep moaning and groaning at games and online then Poyet will be off.

New stadium and attractive football. We've come a long way and YES we still have a long way to go.

Let's get behind the team and the management.

There will always be moaners and I've been one of those in the past. I don't think that we will reach the play offs this season but that is not a bad thing. Gus seems to be trying to build a strong youth set up to develop players for the future. Upper mid table this season.

I've been supporting this miserable and useless football team for 50+ years and we've only ever had bloody useless players, managers and probably tea ladies too. We've never managed to play thirty seconds of football (proper football, what I'd call decent football) in all that time and the closest we ever came to the excitement and sheer joy of the football experience was when we had those lovely outings to Gillingham for real home games, and even then the journey was often ruined by the lack of any true purpose or meaning in the football itself.

And so we boo.It is not just a privilege and joy to do so,but a right,a necessity..............................our DUTY.

Completely agree. Anyone who actually plays football has a different perspective on the game. Usually, that different perspective isn't welcome on here.

Spain won the world cup this year by passing it about. Won every knockout game 1-0. I wonder if their fans were screaming at them to "Get it forward!!!!" at every given opportunity.

I love football. I played tonight and i ain't great, but i love to pass a measured ball into space for a teammate to suddenly run onto. It's dreamy and perfect no matter the result. I dislike a longball game in real life on long-grassed plains and for those wearing the stripes to do too when paid to win matches. I get frustrated sometimes when a pass looks lazily misplaced, but i'll never scream for a ball to be tonked forward with the hope it might fall to one of ours. Gus likes the beautiful game and i like watching it.

Can we have a new thread Meade's Ball.

A daily thought from you.

I for one would ditch the Archer's for it.

I get frustrated when the ball is passed around the back line of defence because there is no movement up front, but I don't boo.

Cox was got more applause then boo's. The people who were booing him are dicks and it was probably their first game.

Agreed.

Some kid behind me, probably about 16, said before the teams came out "I cant wait to see Slade, Im going to give him so much abuse".

He genuinely couldnt understand why he was getting a standing ovation.

Is it me or are there more threads moaning about moaners than there are of people just moaning?

ah but it's people moaning about people moaning which means it's roughly every thread plus at least ONE Withdean moaner who hasn't made a thread

 is this a moan about the moaners who complain about the moaners?

When Casper made his save near the end of the match, the moany old woman (next to her 10x worse moany old husband) just said 'that's not much of a save - I'm not applauding that...'

It wasn't as bad as her husband who, throughout the entire match, was slagging off Poyet for getting his team to pass the ball to each other when we clearly didn't have the players with enough talent to be able to pass.

Must have been the same moany old bastard who screamed "GET IT FORWARD" every time our centre halves (perfectly reasonably) knocked it to each other.

WE'VE GOT THE BALL, you utter SPANNER, what good is HOOFING it forward going to do....especially when we had our non-forward line of Hart and Bennnett towards the end?

Clueless, completely clueless. I wanted to punch him
