I have come to the conclusion that you moaners (and you know who you are) have never played a game of football in your life. Last night our keeper made some excellent saves and still the heckling when he had the ball. El Abd played it back to the keeper and he got booed! Sometimes the ball has to go back to start a new attack.

Gus is doing a fantastic job and I believe that we will make the play offs this season. The problem is that if you keep moaning and groaning at games and online then Poyet will be off.

New stadium and attractive football. We've come a long way and YES we still have a long way to go.

Let's get behind the team and the management.

LOL...
Well Ankergren made ONE good save is all I can recall.

Couldn't understand the booing of Dean Cox though. Seemed very unnecessary.

A couple of those crosses were dangerous that he punched away. He got stick for not catching it when clearly a punch was the safest way of dealing with the situation (strikers poaching for scraps)

Spot on..... these people have no idea how support affects confidence which in turn affects performance.
Success will follow from good positive support.

Guess what GAV - I 100% agree with you. He deserved applause alone for not celebrating - it's not like Cox wanted to leave - he didn't get offwered a new deal. Simple. He was brilliant last night in not celebrating. I heard a couple of clueless twats booing and rightly told em to shut up. Idiots.

Skills - You are right about the not having played football on here. You'll often find it's the ones on here with the biggest opinions who have never actually played the game... As for El Abd passing back - It's good to play the way you're facing sometimes - I can't stand the restless murmours at Withers when we pass it accross the back line - do these people want us to just hoof it like yrs gone by? They're IMPOSSIBLE to please some of em!

When Casper made his save near the end of the match, the moany old woman (next to her 10x worse moany old husband) just said 'that's not much of a save - I'm not applauding that...'

It wasn't as bad as her husband who, throughout the entire match, was slagging off Poyet for getting his team to pass the ball to each other when we clearly didn't have the players with enough talent to be able to pass.

Example: Tommy Elphick on the ball, nothing apparent ahead of him available, so he passes it square to El-Abd. 'You see, that's the problem with Gus Poyet, he's got players like Tommy Elphick and Elliott Bennett who can't pass and won't get the ball forward. It's much better to throw the ball forward, and let the forwards deal with it. Why don't they go back to playing it getting it forward as quickly as possible - at least it's effective. Going back doesn't achieve anything...' ad nauseum

a couple of points:

1) my first game last night.....and probably my last at Withdean
2) the general consensus in E block when the ball went near Casper was "uh-oh"
3) there was a couple of times he should've caught the ball, one bad punch that went to the edge of the area luckily fell to a blue shirt.
4) Cox looked good, he got good applause when he was subbed and it was good of him to reply with the same.
5) the usual moaners on here probably dont actually support BHA, they just like to moan and need something to moan about....thus BHA!

What pisses me off is, say when El Abd has the ball and he can't find a pass, he has to pass it back to the keeper or one of the other defenders and then you get twats moaning to get it forward. It's better to pass it around a bit until you can find the right pass/through ball instead of just hoofing it up to Murray or Barnes.

what like last night when Bridcutt was in acres of space and El Abd had the ball facing forward.....but decided to turn and pass it back to Casper? that bloody annoyed me!

I agree, thankful those who want it lumped forward are getting quieter but they are still there.

Game is lot easier played in the stand and being able to see everything rather than actually on the field.

I didn't really notice that in all fairness but most of the time it's better to pass it around until you can find the right pass instead of just shouting get it forward and then them end up hoofing it and getting it completely wrong.

I have played the game, and I don't like to see a centre back pass the ball back to the keeper who then humps it up the field. If it's going to be humped up anyway I'd rather the centre back did it, the centre back should be more accurate as he's closer to the target and he's better with his feet than the keeper. However, I do agree with most of this thread, as far as I can see El Abd is a perfectly satifactory centre back at this level and Ankergren a perfectly good keeper. I don't think the balance of the team is quite right at present as we don't seem to be getting enough players in the opposition's penalty area, but the new signings and Sparrow may sort that out.

that is true, but it would've taken a blind person in Abds position not to see Liam...he was a mere 15-20 yards away directly in front of him!

Too far from the sun
Several times we were passing it about nicely in the first half and the moany old git sat a few rows in front of me kept shouting 'Come ON - get if forward!'. Then when we actually did send a long pass that didn't go quite right he shouted 'Dont just bloody hoof it'. How are you supposed to please THAT?
