Avoid Pinocchio's like the plague.

In fact, avoid Pinocchio's to avoid the plague.

I agree with Chappers, best food is usually served in the pub. In fact, I'm gonna do a new thread to find which boozer serves the best scran. One day.

What a load of old rubbish - most pub food is crap.

You want a quality cheap meal - Pokeno pies.

Fun and Plentiful Food - Ghenghis Khans, Brighton.

Choose what you want and they cook it for you there and then on a hotter than hell, hotplate thing.

8 bowls is my record!

Must be fairly healthy too as there's no fat or sauces.

For value I don't think you can beat a decent pub feed up.

Pokeno Pies is good though.

There's nothing wrong with Italian restaurants... when they give you a decent amount of food for your money

I would go with that my wife and I both like Duo Topolinos good portions and reasonable price plus Angelo is a staunch BHA fan.

On the tv the other day a chef said there is no such thing as standard Italien food it is like Indian and Chinese all regionalised and varying in taste and cooking.

.

Because the majority buy from people like Brakes, Kent Frozen Foods, 6336 and such like where all they have to do is 'ding' it in the micro.

If you see one of those firms delivering to a pub avoid the pub for grub and try another.

The missus had her Christmas Party in there year before last - and she was treated like SHIT. Normally, Pinoccio's is fine for a quick, cheap pile of pasta (the point of this thread I suppose), but for real quality - nein danke.

In fact, I'd go along with Easy10 and say that there are very few decent pasta eateries in Brighton - in fact, I've only ever been recommended one - Latin in the Lanes, and seeing as I've not been there yet, I can't really comment.

As for Carluccio's, I had that exact same ravioli experience - eight pieces of pasta for £7.49. And, in this instance, it was cold, so I managed to not get charged for it.

:(

Christmas Party's ALWAYS get treated like shit. Them's the rules. A fair number of Christmas Party's ACT like shits also, has to be said. Best thing is to hold them in mid-January when normal standards of restaurant service and customer behaviour have returned to normal
