Best steak in Brighton and Hove?

I ate in the Brighton one and thought it was good, service not great but food good. Incidentally, they had 3 specials of local steaks, I had a rib-eye from somewhere, do they all do this now, i.e. the lancing one, as I have not been there for a couple of years. With the AA, I didn't know there was a discount, unfortunately, mine is through Lloyd's bank, so no proof of membership..

With the coal shed, been once, excellent steak but 800g porterhouse with one side of fries, one veg, one wine and one beer, £80!! I was in and out in 30 minutes as going to the cinema, never again! A mate got me a 1.3kg of porterhouse for £13 from Blake's and it was superb, rather eat in!
I do like the sound of their roast looking at the menu though..

The roasts the coal shed do are very good, Still quite pricey at £38 for two tho. Yes the lancing branch do some specials from time to time. Seems like its a new thing since their last menu change.

If u fancy a drive visit macmillians in Worthing, shabby looking but the steaks are unreal, really look after their meat, been going over 30 years

If you also fancy a place that smells of OAP piss and steaks swimming in some fluid, the **** i have never seen with steak before.
Yup its err shite.
Dog food would be a better (or might even be that) option.

Only been there a couple of times but cannot fault the steaks I had. Enjoyed both times, ok not fine dining but a nice relaxing evening with a few drinks great.

This is my favourite rumour never goes away, whenever someone mentions it some denies it straight away.
I was just going through the thread looking for it  The same thing will be going in 10 years.

Would rather get on train and pop up to Goucho's tbh

Has the chain had a revival? I used to eat a lot of steak in London, mostly on expenses and found that their standards slipped from very good to meh, even though their prices steadily crept up. The particular venue did make a difference though - I found the one near the Crosse Keys to be the most reliable. The best steak I've had in London of late was at Omnino on Leadenhall St. Brilliant service and superb steak.

Latino las Americas is pretty good as well (big Albion fans also) but the Coal Shed is the dogs bollocks.
The 400gr ribeye cooked R or MR is to die for & their slow cooked beef ribs to start are amazing.Game over

Had the meat experience at Latino America for my birthday meal, it was fantastic.. 4 cuts of steak, a couple of sides all washed down with a lovely bottle of Malbec... Highly recommended.

Having eaten at both M & C's I'm still hearing Patcham has service issues, I have been to Lancing 4 times and have always had a great experience, Patcham 3 times and I won't go again!

Latinos, end. Eaten there countless times and always impressed, try the Empanados as a starter, gorgeous. Missing it as I type.

But it is not cheap.

Road Kill Cafe. I wish the UK had anything like this. Chicago has this restaurant that serves all the animals that normally get killed by cars on the motorways including squirrels, opossums, deer, and even skunk (with the stink sacs removed-they don't use skunks who have stink sacs smashed by the cars). Everything tastes like chicken. Tastes great especially with the 50 different kinds of meat sauces.
