What I really like about "Sussex by the sea" is that it is very much "our" song. It's very stirring too when it's sung as the whole ground sings it.

But what songs at other clubs do you like? Obviously "Glad all over" is absolute gash. To be honest it's so embarrassing that I really don't know why Blackpool sing it.

Here are my thoughts on some of them:
But what are the good ones? I reckon Forest/Charlton's rendition of Mull of Kintyre is pretty good. At Forest it is proper loud. Marching on Together is massively overrated but I do think Leeds are probably the most vocally supportive fans in the country (even though they have their fair share of bell ends). Birmingham's Keep Right On is a bit average - almost impossible to understand the words when they sing it.

My favourite is West Brom's "The Lord's My Shepherd". Loud, unique, well known. Ticks all the boxes IMO. They also do a MUCH better and louder version of Liquidator than Chelsea's shit version.

Quite like Delilah at Stoke too.

Over to you...

Disagree on Marching On Together. Its easily for your understandably antipathy towards The Leeds fans to cloud your views - but the song, and their full commitment to it, is always very impressive.

IMO like.
I think they are among the most vocal supporters in the country. They give their side proper backing. I just think MOT is shit.

The good:
Blue Moon
YNWA
Blaydon Races
No One Likes Us (I like it)

The bloody awful:

Hi Ho Silver Lining
(Spurs) Ohhhhhh whennnnnnn Theeeeee
Ars-en-al
I hate No One Likes Us. It's also used by MK Dons - cringe. Let 'Em Come is good though.

Another vote for Stoke/Delilah.

My memory, from our trips there, is it always seems to come out of nowhere, and at full volume. I'd always wonder how they all knew to start at the same time!

Really? I find that song so boring!
absolute goosebumps when all the coked up teenagers around us were belting it out at the top of their lungs

Having lived in Brum as a youth I’m partial to ‘Keep right on’
Same here. Apart from the Norwich one it’s probably (?) the oldest club song continuously sung.

It’s unique (not copied), spontaneous (not just sung all the time), has lots of apt phrases within it that tell the story of the club (Keep Right On, the Boys in Royal Blue, Joys and Sorrows, Tired and Weary, Happy Abode, We Will Journey On etc), links back to their last FA Cup final in the 50s, it’s a great historical song about Harry Lauder losing his son in WW1 too….

Best other club song out there by a distance IMHO …..

For me, part of being a signature song is that the fans in question are the only ones who sing it/a version of it.

On that basis, Blaydon Races is out for me.
It must annoy quite a lot of Geordies I'd imagine to have their song appropriated by others and the words changed. If half a dozen teams sang Sussex By The Sea with their own lyrics I'd imagine the meltdown would be immense. I'm struggling to type this without spectacularly vomiting all over my keyboard by if, for example, Chelsea had their own version of it I'm not sure I could ever watch them play against us without wearing ear plugs for the duration.

In Germany, every club has an anthem. I'm biased towards Freiburg's as I was a season ticket holder there but Cologne (Köln) was probably my favourite. I travelled up there twice, the second time really just to hear the fans singing. It's absolutely heart-stopping when you're in the stadium. Tune v similar to Loch Lomond.
