The Swan on match day.
Genuine question, what if it's a homebrew/craft lager? Do they exist? And is the rule strictly no lager from the barrel?
I really have no idea. The reason I said NO LAGER on tap, is because that is exactly what I was told in that fashion by an owner of a very well run and respected micropub. I have looked into it and that is the ethos.

Evening Star for me, although I'm liking the Brighton Beer Dispensary and Brunswick a lot lately.
The George and Dragon at Hougton, the Old Oak Inn, near Abbots Wood, the Fountain at Ashurst, the Juggs at Kingston, the Cricketers at Berwick, to name a few. To

Tally Ho, Landport Estate, Lewes. Last in there in 79 mind.
Lewes has the John Harvey (Tuesday dray delivery), Gardeners Arms & the Black Horse.
Burton has too many but Bridge Street, Coopers, Last Heretic and the Weighbridge are all real ale pubs

The Snowdrop is a nice pub as well.
A vote here for the Duke of Boots as my fave Brighton pub. No side to it, always friendly, solid Albion. Harvey's and other ale. They will have footie and cricket viewable from the same spot if you are so inclined. The landlord in the Welly is top drawer.
