Bit off topic, but I used the Bognor by pass for the first time on Friday
Not sure why, but that sounds like a euphemism for a little-known sexual position.

Well it's certainly true that many 'plough men' and agricultural workers used to eat bread and cheese for lunch, whilst out in the fields in times of yore.
But I agree that many modern day ploughman's lunches served up in pubs, are far fancier than that.
Yes, they both go slow, raise slightly up and avoid a shit hole. Not sure why, but that sounds like a euphemism for a little-known sexual position.
We do not all like lobster enough or are in the position to pay £35 a kilo personally I prefer crab .
Bit off topic, but I used the Bognor by pass for the first time on Friday, never even knew it existed. What a great road that is.
Why go to a pub for it? Ploughmans has got to be the most idiot proof meal to prepare.
I tend to eat variations of it most days in the summer, its a lazy way to stay healthy as well.

I agree, and would only put it on a menu under duress, but I'm not too sure if it's particularly healthy, sorry!
I had a ploughman's lunch last week. He was not very about it though.
Shouldn't it be called a 'Ploughpersons'
Or a tractor drivers lunch given that ploughing has been mechnical for decades and is no longer carried out by a person pushing a plough or a plough being drawn by a horse.

The food has gone downhill in recent years. Sadly the queues are a cost of it being in a nice location and it being popular. used to be there regularly and could get a spot easily, but even the parking is impossible nowadays.
AFAIK that's currently closed, but will be opening again soon (New owner). My sister knows them so i'll find out when etc. Tis a solid shout though as it's a lovely pub.
EDIT: Apparently it may be open around the 14th of the month, but that's not confirmed nor definite. I'll be checking it out when it is,'tis only a few mins drive from my current base.
