brighton, actually
either current, or in the past (before wankerisation..)

the hopleaf, cooksbridge (just west of lewes, by the
rail station) - bit of a bikers bar, but no hassle at all-
especially with a massive (baby??) rottweiler minding
the bar, when landlord barry / brenda not around..
(they since went to the Bull,in ditchling?)

had many great roast (dinners!), and good games of
billiards etc there - one new years eve party was
fantastic -helluva mess to clean up tho...!

afaik, has since been onced up tp be a countrified tea bar.....

brighton, actually
#2 - the pond, gloucester road brighton

a tiny, cramped bar, with loads of teapoits(?) on the ceiling!

popular with nearby postal workers, but debbie, one of the bar staff was quite nice, giving us free (crap!) whisky with each
guiness.. after 4 pints, who cares!

an easy walk downhill to grubbs, for a sober up burger
and chips...

A place in Vermont something like Man of Kent.
Drank in there one night - lady at the bar kept drinking and stealing money off the bar. When she tried to stumble out she fell through the back screen door and landed on her face - then about 20 chickens used her as a bridge and walked into the pub. The owner says 'not again'!!

Never laughed so hard in my life!

The Albion (see Fishersgate barmaids thread).
Actually, the pubs shite, but the scenary is spectacular.

My fave is still the Kings Head, Fishersgate. I got all mawdling sitting there the other night. The Christmas deccies were all glistening, the lights were low, the atmos was great and I was half cut. I almost went for a little cry in the toilet, I was so happy.
