Best place to get photos developed?

I know there are a fair amount of keen photographers here, and just wondered if any of you can recommend a good place to get 35mm films developed?

Have just returned from Africa with some, hopefully, excellent shots of the wildlife and after going to the effort of borrowing some good photographic kit, I really want to make sure the photos come out as well as possible.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I can't personally recommend any 35mm developers but I will say try to go to an independent developer who will treat your films as their own. Will cost more for the personal touch but for a trip that you have just had it will be worth it for the finished article. :)

Look through the yellow pages.

Maybe Roz can recommend somebody local?

We took 16 films into Jessops and they did us quite a good price, and they had them ready when they said they would

Thanks. I'm not too worried about the price in this case though... just want to get the best possible quality.

once went to one of those Foto Stop outlets - used Fuji paper and the worst ever. To be honest the best 35mm i had were from Boots. Kodak paper and brighter colours (but natural)

I'm swaying towards Boots. Just did a google search and didn't really turn up many options.

as 10cc say, not in hove
there's a studio on the corner opposite the old market in hove, sorry i can't remember the name, but for quality they were exceptional. i had some very very old glass negatives printed each and the results were great

ASDA holingbury has the most advanced processing machine in Brighton, believe it or not... Is also only £5 for 50 digital prints though not sure about 35mm. Always find jessops a bit :tosser: I have to say.

Boots are the best. They are quite traditional and quick. The quality is superb. They use the best equipment. Use them!

Cool - I'll ask in there on the way into town.

I have used the Photo shop on the corner of Chruch Road/The Drive for years (opposite Canhams). They are extremely efficient and offer a very good service. YOu can't go wrong with them.

Anyone else kind of miss old school camera film? Having been digital for 6 years. it was really cool going to pick the film up and not quite knowing what you were gonna get, though gutting when none came out

Tell me about it! My girlfriend took most of these photos and we know some of them SHOULD be spectacular... lions just yards from our car etc...

but I can't help thinking they're bound to be all blurry :lolol:

Fingers crossed. And thanks for all the suggestions.
