Turner's meal deal, a superb pie with mash, peas and gravy!

There are threads when we will miss BG completely and this is one of them !!!!!
Yes. I feel I shall have to try and take up the torch ....

Pukka Pies. They should sell them at the Amex. Way better than Piglets and will earn more money as they're much more popular. I've been told the only reason we sell Piglets is because Martin Perry made a deal with the Piglets founder when we were at Withdean and Paul Barber has been unable to re-negotiate it.

You think Martin Perry signed a 10+ year contract with Piglets or something? Pukka Pies are pretty poor quality anyway.

Did Martin Perry put Piglets into Arsenal, Leicester, Southampton etc too? Far from a big Piglets fan but I do appreciate the fact Albion are supporting local businesses where they can - rather than mass produced, low cost, bottom feeder food.

I've only had one pie from Turners, an individual minced beef and onion pie. It was full to the brim and very good.

If what you have just said was to be taken seriously, then l take issue with it. Piglets Steak & Ale is on a completely different level to Pukka's Steak & Gristle counterpart, with much better quality ingredients than Pukka.

I'm surprised frankly that Piglet's haven't been mentioned before, a complete taste sensation when they were introduced upon the opening of the Amex, and provided yhrey are eaten when still fresh, and not been subject to standing under the lights on the server for an hour or more, are still one of the best pies produced in Sussex in my opinion.

With apologies to my late friend Brian, who l know was a confirmed Pukka man.

No of course it wasn't serious, Jeez. I even said I was 'taking up the torch' and made a post in BG's style as a homage to our dear departed friend, knowing he'd always stuck up for Pukka pies.

But yes, when the Amex opened I thought that the pies were among the best, no, were THE best pies I'd ever had. In my opinion (just my opinion) the standard has slipped massively since those early days. To stress again, just my opinion, before someone says indignantly that they think they're still as good as ever.
