For me it is a toss up between Us thrashing Crawely in the FA Cup (my PE teacher was playing for Crawley).

And Mike Small scoring against Man Utd.

I will never forget my first really big Goldstone occasion. Bournemouth on Boxing Day 72. The crowds that season had averaged 15,000 but there were 32,000 for that game, electric atmosphere, 2-0 win and me hooked for life.

I have many happy memories of the Goldstone, many of which have been covered.

One abiding memory is the old bloke with only a couple of teeth who used to go round the pitch shouting 'late night Argus' (at least I think that's what it was!)

How happy I was that he was there for the first ever game at Withdean - it brought a lump to my throat because that's when I knew we had come home.

Is he still around?

I used to be a ball boy & it was great. Going in the players entrance being met by Jock & ushered through to the tunnel. Running out in front of the team was awsome. Sat in front of the north stand having peanuts chucked at my head. Oddly i preffered doing the reseve games. Chatting to the likes of glen hoddle & charlie nicholas before the game & having a kickabout on the pitch at half time ....ah the nostalgia

7-0 ( or was it 7-1) win against Charlton, it was when the north Stand was closed while the new roof went on, we were all in the East............. no roof, but we still made a big noise, Charlton boys were not happy i can tell you, it got a bit fiesty in the narrow road behind the east afterwards.

It was 1938, I was thirteen at the time and playing in goal for Brighton Intermediate against West Hove in thr Final of the schools Junior Barlow Cup. We won. It was really emotional to run out on to the pitch and look up at the terraces and the North Stand.
I think the attendance was about forty!!!

l think it was about 1972,drew1-1 at home to Rochdale in a mid-week fixture. We needed a point for promotion and they needed one to stay up,so both teams ended the night happy. l'm sure it was john templeman who scored our goal,he was our right back.Anyway, l was watching from outside ,standing on top of the garages of the houses that were behind the east terrace.
38000 in the ground and an estimated 10000 outside who couldn't get in including me, my brother and my dad.
Anyone else remember this!

Firstly, in '76 (I think) I was just 8 at a game V Southampton - around 28,000 filled the Goldstone. Apart from Wembley & Cardiff that is the biggest Albion gate i've attended.

Cigar smoke wafting around blokes wearong 'John Motson style' sheepskins.

Charlton 7-0 :lolol:

Mark Lawrensen got me on the Liverpool coach in 1982 I met legends such as Bob Paisley , Kenny Dalglish etc..

Chelsea fans storming the pitch from the south stand to the north & beating the shit out of copper :nono: & then snapping crossbar in front of the north stand :nono: I was also spat at & 'offerred out' by a 30+ year old Chelsea thug - I was only 14. Err, yeah right!

Fans United - 'Nuff said. :clap2:

Finally, Doncaster - "Stoooorahhh, Stuart Stooooahhh...........'nuff said.

Yes I do - I went with my Dad - a friend of his from work and his son. The other boy went for a pee at half time and couldn't get back in - missed the whole 2nd half!! I remember the B'mth game from that season as well which someone mentioned earlier. My dad and I decided the North Stand wasn't the place to be so we transferred to the east terrace. As we were walking along the path behind the NS a copper came bursting out of one of the doors with a B'mth supporter under each arm and they all fell down the grass bank!!

The other amazing game was Clough's first in charge. The match itself - Against York City - was a boring draw but it got so much media attention. I remember going for a leek before the game started and there was Tony Gubba standing next to me!!
