[Football] Best managers if we want some great press conferences

We had Potter for three years saying as little as possible in press conferences and a grumpy Italian lad who made zero jokes in 18 months in charge. And before that you guys watched CH and while I haven't seen more than one or two of his pressers, he probably wasn't MR FUN either if I understand it right.

Hopefully Tony and Paul will be sorting this out. We need to find someone who brings a bit of fun to the absolutely ultra dull thing that is a PL press conference.

We might need to go Italian again though:

Alberto Malesani

Giovanni Trapattoni

Gennaro Gattuso

But for me, Italian is... sometimes maybe good, usually a little bit shit. I want it Dutch!

Did the two CH pressers have him saying “these are a good team”?

Shame Gordon Strachan isn’t on the short list

Ah! of course should have added Strachan!

Wasn't there some bald British coach who was pretty fun as well?

If we want funny press conferences we may as well just appoint Al Murray or Greg Davis.

I’d rather have a manager that knew how to win a game or two of football than some wanna be stand up comedian.

Press conferences are a waste of most people’s time, including the manager. It could all be said in an email (just don’t get Barber to write it, there won’t be enough time to read it before the game kicks off).

I’ll be glad when we appoint someone so these threads stop it’s getting ridiculous. What next? RDZ left all his white trainers so here’s a list of managers with the same shoe size as him? FFS.

Ian Holloway?
Ye sounds right. Don't remember a thing he said but I remember people thinking he was funny.

Sorry if I offended/upset/triggered you, despite the title - playing on the current situation - its just basically... "please post outrageous press conferences so I can have a laugh".

Meh - football fans have seen NOTHING. Albion supporters moaning about Potter's little dig about "maybe I need a bit of a history lesson"?

THIS is what a proper manager rant looks like. If an Albion manager had come out and said this, 20,000 Seagulls' supporters heads would have exploded.

Cubs manager Lee Elia - one of a kind (for those at work, or of a nervous disposition, don't listen to this with the sound up!).

A transcript!

Surprised nobody's mentioned the late Joe Kinnear's first press conference as Newcastle manager. Could only find an audio version and it's not great quality (but there's a transcript in the YouTube notes).

I’d like us to appoint Barry Fry. Just as caretaker manager ( or just caretaker) for a couple of weeks until the new messiah is appointed. It would be a bit of fun for a while and a distraction from the doom and gloom on here.
