It seems, by the same premise that you are inferring, that if Albion fans went to away grounds we should be stoned, sworn at, have bottles chucked at us and so on.
We don't live in the dark ages anymore for Christ's sake. By being welcoming and friendly to visiting fans those fans will stay longer, and possibly return for future fixtures, spend loads of money and generally boost the local economy. If it were the reverse they would f*** off as soon as possible and never return. Wonderful!
