Bickerstaffe on Newhaven Quey - got some scallops the other day - best I've ever had. Bit weird how you view the fish through a window, but as good as Fish.

The one next to Haywards Heath station won best one in Britain couple years back I believe, though have never been to. Do lot online as they all do nowadays.
Thought the OP asked for the best fishmonger in the Brighton area. Don't think Haywards Heath qualifies

Now that the creative juices are flowing with recommendations for mongers of fish, could we expand this to include recommendations for other types of monger in the Brighton area?

The best Ironmonger, Cheesemonger and Costermonger would also be good to know if the NSC hive mind has similar recommendations to offer.

late to the party here but the fish shack between king alfred and rockwater is very good, and prices are a bit keener than Fish... its on the beach and the chap who runs it is a very low-temperature dude, think he's south american...

fish on the end of Shoreham harbour/ hove lagoon.

their wild sea bass is superb and we hardly ever BBQ meat these days preferring to head out to the Fish shop and get our stuff there

then over the road to the Sussex Cheese Man
