Sorry yet again to appear that I'm sniping you but I went to school with the browns kids and know roy quite well, wasnt aware they were Palace fans, i'll ring Neil tonight and find out.

THe PC term for them nowadays is not brown kids but little fuzzy-wuzzys.

I know its not central Brighton but the Lobster Pot in Longridge Avenue is something to behold. It's run by an extremely eccentric old Chinese couple neither of which appear to speak English. They frequently argue with each other and its sometimes a bit of a lottery as to whether you get what you actually order. However the grub is excellent and because it is so busy the food is always freshly cooked. The reason why it is so busy is because I don't think they have EVER put their prices up. Small cod £1.50, and for £2.20 you get a piece the size of a small whale. Chips 70p. Curry sauce 40p and so on. We feed the whole family of 2 adults and 3 kids for less than a tenner and they throw in a bag of prawn crackers.

Jenny's on Preston Drove is the best proper chippy in town. Bardleys I don't count as you can eat in there, otherwise they WIN.

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

Got to put in a good word for the Model up at Fiveways - although he IS a bit pricey.

Bardsleys is very good but also very expensive for the working class mans dinner. They have turned it into a licensed restuarant.
The Chinese one out near the now empty Legal and General in Hove is quite good.
Not so central but the Woodingdean fishery is excellent.
The best of all time was the Chippy in Upper Lewes Road but that was over 15 years ago, They were the best fish and chips to this day that I ever tasted.
You can't beat a good Fish n Chips for a quick dinner.

Harry Ramsden's takeaway on the front, rather than the 'posh' sit-down bit
