Hell of a lot of great films already mentioned but I would second (third or fourth) Jaws, especially taking into account when it was made.

As for others, Crash is great film although I seem to recall on previous threads it's not gone down well with the film purists.

Glad Big was finally mentioned - stonewall classic.

I'll add Ronin - purely for the best (non CGI) car stunt work in any film, ever. The one scene where De Niro is meant to be driving but is in fact sat next to the stunt driver..... and absolutely shitting his pants
