Most of these are pop soundtracks or compilations. I am talking about original film scores and these are the best.

Somewhere in Time - John Barry
Gladiator - Hans Zimmer
The End of the Affair - Michael Nyman
Out of Africa - John Barry
Indecent Proposal Theme - John Barry
The English Patient - Gabriel Jared
Titanic - James Horner
Barry Lyndon - Leonard Rosenman

Titanic - James Horner

James Horner did the Titanic score?

It can't have been as good as the synth/steel drum mix used in that Arnie classic, Commando, that he also did!

What film, in your opinion, has the best overall soundtrack (not just one great theme song, but as a collection of songs)?

In spite of it featuring the worst attempt at a Scottish accent in the entire history of humanity, I'd have to pick Highlander.

A Kind Of Magic, Princes Of The Universe, Who Wants To Live Forever, Hammer To Fall, all great songs from one of the best rock bands in the history certainly of British music, if not world music.

Correct. Close the thread. Any grown man who doesn't get emotional when 'Who Wants to Live Forever' is playing over the scenes when Heather is growing old and dies can't possibly call themselves an Albion fan!
